Unique taper explained?

So I know what a pro taper is, and I know what a conical tapper is but I'm not exactly sure what a pro conical or a modified conical is? I'm looking for the right taper for a custom shaft I'm going to get commissioned. I've always liked the taper of house cues, seeing as that's what we all usually learn on, and I have a Jacoby player which has a pro taper but I've never really been able to get used to it. I like the feeling of conical tapers getting tighter in your fingers through your follow thorough, it feels more secure to me. Is there a happy medium between the two tapers? Thanks in advance, -CeaseLess-

If a cuemaker can make a pro taper as well as a conical taper then he can probably make anything in between. I think you can get what you are looking for if you are willing to have somebody make it. Probably not already made though.
