Universal UN-40 Pool Cue with Leather Wrap and matching Universal Smart Shaft

I just wanted to know if anyone would like to post any opinions about the quality of the Universal UN-40 Pool Cue.

I just received it today, and I think it is very beautiful.

I only found 1 site that sells it (in the link below)

http://www.billiardwarehouse.com/cues/lucasi/universal-un40-pool-cue.htm

Thanks in advance for any opinions about the cue.

I mainly just wanted to show everyone (that may be interested) pictures of the cue that I received today.

The shaft appears to have been used a lot (it has that very dirty worn in look that I think only comes from hours of daily play with it).

I just wanted to add (so that there is not any confusion) that when I noted "show everyone (that may be interested) pictures", I only meant that I wanted to show everyone that may like to see actual pictures of the cue (and that is all that I meant to say). Thanks.

Why is there a ring on the shaft?

I'd be interested to know how much it deflects compared to the 314 - I take it DOES come with a USS as standard?

That's how they are constructed. If you look at the web site I believe they give some cut-away views.

New or used?

You bought this as a new cue and it's used?

No, I was just showing a link to a website that sells the cue. It took me a long time to find the model for the cue, and that is the only website that I can find that sells it. I purchased it used on ebay for $130. I think I got a very good deal (considering that a new Universal Smart Shaft costs $200 by itself).

The Universal Smart Shaft does not hit nearly as stiff as a Predator 314, and that is a good thing for me (because I hate the very stiff hit of the 314 shafts). It hits more like an OB1 shaft (if anyone has ever hit with OB1 shafts), but I love the hit much more than the OB1 shafts. So if you like the extremely stiff hit of the Predator 314, than you may not like the Universal Shaft Shaft. That is just my opinion. I have tried 3 of the Predator shafts in the past (the 314, 314-2, and the Predator Z), and I really did not like the way any of them played (but the Z shaft was the worst for me).

Thank you. I am sure that I will. I have been dreaming about the Universal Smart Shaft for years, but never had the money to buy one (after I sold mine about 3 years ago). They are just too expensive to buy new.

I hope you have many hours of enjoyment with it.

I just wanted to add that even though I have been playing seriously for the last 17 years, I still do not know anything about squirt or deflection. I do not understand what any of those terms mean, but have heard a lot of players mention them in the past. I can only compare how I feel about how a shaft plays in simple terms (that I understand). Thanks.
