Unknown cue - id help

Hey guys i recently acquired this cue and would like to hear some opinions on who possibly made it. I took a cheap gamble here but the cue is a keeper either way.

So before the cue gets shipped to proficient billiards lets hear what our az aficianados have to say.

Any info/help is appreciated

The thin points really confuse me. It looks like a decent cue until the thin points.

Was there anyone famous for those?

The Birdseye and Ebony look great. Nice stacked veneer ring.

It is probably an early cue from any one of hundreds of cuemakers who started out using Prather point blanks.

cueman i was told by another azer who once sold the cue that it was owned by a pool room owner from nj or conn. because the points are thin i was thinking prather blank as well but others have said otherwise.

Kinda looks like the newer handmade Joss cues
The 4-pointers have that gap between the points

Show us a closeup of the last 2 inches or so of the ends of a point so we can see if the veneers are mitered or overlap.

I would guess Frey or Jensen but the pin looks funky.

Maybe a Gilbert

The thin veneers and gap at the base reminds me of an old Gilbert I had at one point. But I have never seen one with the veneers like that above the butt cap. Not saying he did not do that on older cues, but just saying I have not seen it.

I can't tell, is the joint stainless over phenolic? May be a Jacoby cue. I have also seen Bob Dzuricky (DZ) cues with similar thin black trim rings at A and B.
