Hey Everyone,
I want to introduce myself into this wild world of pool.
Rodney and I are taking over the Phoenix, Arizona franchise of the New UPA League. I am so excited to be involved in such a wonderful League.
So if there are any of you out there that are interested in being apart of a new, challenging league, Please feel free to call and sign up.
Contact Sheina my number is (623)203-3999.

I really want this to be huge.

It's an amateur pool league.
Here is a quick run down.....
-win cash and prizes!
-Ratings 1-10 "Rate yourself against the Pros"
-28 points max per team
-16 week season
-league membership annual $55 Platinum or $25 Gold
-$10 nightly per person
-U.S. Amateur Ranking
-Exclusive SSR (UPA Speed)

It is a new ranking system that is challenging and fun.
That's just a brief summation if anyone has any questions feel free to call

The site is quite vague. It says amateur leagues but looks like a pro league to me... also don't give formats etc team or singles.

As long as you like a system managed and run with dishonesty as their foundation. Not spreading sour grapes, but just relaying that much of that system is just a rip-off of a Phoenix local around here who innovated and created the system.

That's not what the pool community needs....
Thanks but no thanks...

This sounds very interesting. But I have to agree with Mongoose the website is a little vague. I would like to know more about the handicapping and the way the league is structured.

The handicapping system is the major component that was replicated/stolen (Stolen Statistical Rating system). It starts off by a virtual copy of a unique shot by shot scorekeeping technique. Although someone tried to claim that it was more similar to TAP's scorekeeping.

Looks interesting to me as well. I know I can be slow at times but it still looks vague lol.

The 28 max per team ? Wonder if it is a similar style as APA or TAP.

Hi Sheina,

Welcome to the forums.

Best of luck with the leagues.

made me laugh a little.

Now somebody out there must know the format of this league or play in it. Don't be shy.. I would like to hear.. we've heard the "bad word" on it & I like to keep an open mind and be my own judge... let's hear the good.

They are in the process of updating the website now. I'm not sure when it will be completed, but they are taking everyone's suggestions into consideration and are working diligently to provide the most information possible to those interested in the positive future of the UPA League. I believe Sheina provided her phone number for additional inquiries of her league previously in this thread.

The problem with the phone number aspect is that numerous people have the same questions. It would be easier on Sheina and everyone else if she simply answered the questions here.

The post was made on here to reach as many people as possible. Telling people to call for more info than what little has been provided, negates the whole "let's reach the masses" thought process.

I applaud Sheina for offering to be the one to come on here and start promoting this. I'm sure she did it because few players are willing to do so due to how some pro players have been treated on here in the past.

There's one thing that should be learned by anyone wanting to come on here and promote something and that is "Be prepared to answer any and all questions pertaining to your cause, here on the forum". Others have tried the "call me" approach in the past and it hasn't gone over very well.

Just some friendly advice for those that want to promote this new league. Best of luck to everyone involved in this endeavor.

I hear ya, which is exactly why they are updating the website. There is simply too much information to post on a thread. It is a new league. I believe she posted her number for players who are interested in joining the UPA League in Arizona, not for random people to call out of curiosity. It is a friendly post, so she welcomes friendly replies.

No, not many people have common sense these days!
