For those people that have a vested, or even a curious interest, I finally got the last piece in the puzzle for my book, a photo of the great unknown player, Port Chester Mickey Carpinello, one of my old road partners.
I discovered his son Matthew, on FaceBook, and he replied to me, and provided a photo. I had been in contact with his daughter Lynn, but she was on the outs with the family, and didnt have a photo of her dad.
It wasn't easy to locate the son, as he had moved to San Diego.
That gives me 99.99% of the photos that I was looking for to put in the book (241 so far). The last photo I would like to have, but dont -- and I am going to go ahead with the final edits regardless of if I ever get it, is -- a photo of Sugar Shack Johnny Novak. I was in communication with him for awhile, and he was going to send me a pic, but for whatever reason he has dropped completely off of the grid. Knowing him as I do, that is not so surprising.
