Update on the Des Moines pool scene

I really enjoyed Dr Cue as well. I talked with him after one of his shows. He is so intense when discussing pool in general, you can just tell it is one of his true loves in life. Sure wish we could get him back at ISPA. I know everyone would enjoy his show and I think he really liked our venue. I know he really appreciated when we set up blechers for him one time. He told me that was a really good idea...then we quit hiring him :(...somebody thought that the Elite Tournament would offer enough entertainment :o.

I suppose I'll see some of you in a couple months (Waterloo then Davenport).

I just saw a thread about Dr. Cue having a stroke last year? He didn't really seem much different at Riverside. I'm guessing full recovery? He is always great to watch.

Definatly see you at ISPA. Waterloo? eh, maybe!

I can't play in lockdown games. If you guys get off lock down and not play Jacks or Better for a starting hand I would try it. I have no patience to sit and wait for hands.

Dr. Cue = Tom Rossman. I think it's a different guy.

You mean you aren't always supposed to play premium starting hands only? No way. Bring back my old favorite hand suited J10.

Thats like my favorite go broke hand, I had that when I got busted out last time I played with Brad and them. I was against Jacks and hit top pair and a flush draw on the flop.

If people played crappy hands and busted you with them, you'd complain about that too!!!

Just admit that your're not a good poker player and you'd rather save your money for adult beverages/entertainment!:poke:

I can give a **** how good I play poker. I do have preferences where I lose the money that I will ineveitably lose at poker though. The lockdown game is about as fun as the dry game for me.
 
I'm on the fence with one day to decide! A race to 4 in masters for $75 entry just doesn't seem right especially when hargens, frieders, bowman, kitto, and several world beaters are still considered masters there! They need another division OR Maybe I should send my $75 in and not even go and in 2 more years petition to be moved back down!

I feel you have a better chance with a race to 4 for %75 as opposed to a race to 7 for $45. Anyone can be beat in a race to 4.

I agree with the first part. The second part is a bit of a stretch.

You gonna do jager-bombs(VERY PLURAL!!!) again with us this year? You gotta buy at least one round this time tho! :poke:
Just kidding with ya. Last year you had a ruff time before the tourney.
 
Is the 9 ball race the same as 8 ball? The flier doesn't really spell that out and just lists the race for the different levels. I would assume if this is the case they are the same.

I believe 9 ball is a little longer longer race. Maybe 5/5

I am glad you threw in the "should" lol...no guarantees in a short 9 ball race. I just have to decide by today if the $ risk is worth the reward. I at least have a month and a half to prepare regardless...try to get a little bit of swagger back in the step that I used to have.

Thought Kitto was an Elite Master, I don't shoot state so I'm not totaly sure.

Kitto, Mulnix and some other Masters play league here in Cedar Rapids, kind of a bad night when they show up.:mad:
