Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Ill try to give an accurate report.
First we couldnt play on 19 so we went to 29. Then i had to rack the balls a certain way -- i will not be doing this again its annoying. I agreed to put the 6 on the top on the side i was breaking from --- even though it was a wild ball. We played no 9 ball break, i think i made it only once.
Pet came out firing and won the first 3, then we back and forthed a bit. After about an hour and a half we were even and took a break. I made one 6 ball break where it got triple kissed in the top corner pocket. I made a note that pet had gotten 6 good rolls and i had got 2. I had also broke 3 times and made 4 balls and scratched, which obviously pet ran out all 3.
After break in a few games i was up 2 then i put a 3 pack on him to go up 5. He quickly won a game and then ran a couple and i ended up only 1. ( wtf) After about 3 hours i was up 3 and we stayed there for awhile.
Another break and we went back to it. I won a couple and had a break and run to go up 6. Then i got super lucky and missed a tough 2 ball and got super lucky safe. ( we are about even on rolls at this point ) Pet didnt hit it and i ran out and broke and ran to go up 8. Next game was a miss for each of us but he hung a ball and i got out.
Soooo on to the skill game ........... i broke dry and hung the 9. Pet had no shot on the 1 and played safe. I said well kick it in for the dough or lose huh ? To which he replied you'll probably hit it bad and hit the 6 in. Well i did hit the 6 but it hit the 8 and the 8 hit the 9 in.
Not really how i would have liked to win, but as much as i get out rolled in 9 ball i dont mind it.
Pet said he will play me again with the same spot. Maybe not with Frost's money but he said he will give that to me again. There was no talk of playing again tonight or anything, which honestly is fine with me. I have no chance of winning if i were to play 10 hours i now know. From now on ahead sets will have a stopping point until a time im in better shape and my back dont go crazy on me. (anyone who knows me knows what im talking about)
Thank you pet for playing and mike for putting him up. Now i can buy my kid some more diapers thank god.

You had no chance of losing, it's a bad game. If Pet plays you that way again, I'll be happy to throw in on your side because it's that much of a lock. My gut told me it was a terrible game. I didn't use my business mind and I have no one to blame but myself. I'm very hard on myself when I do stupid shit. I'll follow my gut next time.

I literally do quit though. It may sound like a joke now but next time I see Big Dogs it will be the Shane match. Otherwise I'll play Saturday's at Stix and thats it completely.

Mike, trust me, Pet felt horrible after the match. He wished he didn't have you back him at all. If it was a bad bet you shouldn't have made it, not slam a good guy after a few mistakes....
He said that the entire time he was worried about loosing your money, and it weighed on him. Backing someone is supposed to take the pressure off of a player. I think that shows what kind of a person Pet is....a good hearted guy. He said next time he will play with his own money, and if you ask me that's the way it should be. That makes the real player emerge.
I'm not slamming him. We didn't make a smart game. That's kind of the end of the story. If it comes across as slamming I apologize that wasnt my intention. I just got put into retirement thoough.
Ok yall dont need to start the pity show for Pet. He was so worried about me backing him that he asked me to back him for this game. I didn't go to him and make him play or even suggest he played. He asked me to believe in him and let him show me what he could do. So I took the leap of faith with him. But for you guys who have no idea what the situation is to even assume you know anything is way to presumptuous for me to even comment on. He can play that game on his own dime all day long because I'll never back it again. You have no idea what I do for the guy so please dont try to egg on and amplify a situation that isnt there. I'm not dogging him, he knows he didnt play 25% of his speed today and the truth is it cost me a grand to watch that. I honestly believe if he plays 50% we are still there right now sweating it. Maybe the money messed his game up or his head wasnt in it. Was not a good day for me though I can tell you that much.
I had that feeling about a month ago. I took it out on the next four MF's I played. And throw in some cheap stuff, and I'm way ahead for the last two months. Don't quit yet. Give it a week. I'll call you. Later, Frost. Go have some Cognac and Jack with a Natural Light chaser.

Fact is I've been in town 2 months and I'm wondering if business is going on behind my back. Yeah I'm wondering did I possibly get chopped up. Pool is shady and you know what. If you want a $10k match thats fine. I'll make it happen. But it will be with my guys. Not the local crew because well I'm not a local. If anyone else was in my shoes they'd be wondering exactly what I am wondering right now. I cant even sleep I'm so sick.
I've got $10k to post up and I'll put some calls in and maybe make an event out of it with the SVB Vs. Frost match. Hell since TAR will be there it can go on there too if I can get people up here.

OK put it this way, I'm not even the only person who feels like I do. Either way I'm probably twice as fired up this morning as I was last night. I'm gonna hold my tongue a little bit, something just aint right though.
My 2 cents...as for the action behind your back I can personally vouch that Jason and Pet are not doing anything like that. I grew up with Jason who helped bring me into pool, and have known Pet for years and won BCA state with him on a team. I only saw the last two hours of the match and there were no intentional dogged shots between either parties. As for some of the comments on here I think it's pretty shady but typical. So what if Mikey barks, so what if he makes a comment saying this person will beat that person or they don't have a chance at this or that game. You can't tell me action hasn't been fun to watch or be a part of in the last couple of weeks? Honestly Mikey has the balls to roll that cash and gamble and that is more then I can say for any of the big hitters that I see at dogs. You see anyone else playing for 1K or $500 sets?? Do you see anyone besides Chance have that kind of money to roll consistently 3-4 times a week? Chin up Mikey, you have been on a horrible losing streak, but judging from our brief texts yesterday you knew you were going to lose in your gut and still "did it out of pride because people are yappin". People will always yap and you need to rise above no matter how hard it may be.

Mike Frost or Mike Farley, although I just met you, if your wondering about your back in Des Moines, quit puking and get some sleep. The players you backed namely Mike and Jodi are stand up guys who want to win more than anybody, and Pet has more heart than anyone in Big Dogs! I'm sure they gave 100% and would play better the next time they were put in the box. Jodi and Mike A. do a great job of promoting pool in the area and have done so long before Big Dog came to town. With Fenton out of town Jodi and Mike are the top players in town, if you don't think so try to win a Sunday 9 ball tournament, these two players will be in the way! Maybe during the SVB and Scott Frost event Jodi, Mike, and Jason Chance or anyone else in town could have a playoff for the top shooter in DM. Make the format box 8ball, box 9 ball, and big table 9ball winner take all with a top DM shooter trophy displayed in Big Dogs. In this format there will be a winner you can't quit even or split, only one BIG DOG!
As for all the team talk it sounds like your getting into the age old debate that my dad is tougher than your dad. The team event is a great idea but the idea was to have DM ties. Well it sounds like the Frost buzz is put to sleep until his backside quits stinging. Also as I have said in the past "you don't need a spot Richardson, you play too good!" Nice shooting.

My game is what it is. I'm a league player nowadays...that's all. I never pretend to be some big-time player. I play this game for me with as much integrity as I can muster. Whatever opinion others have of me, I cannot control.
