Update on the Des Moines pool scene

Conspiracy

Mike, when you make bad bets, you are gonna lose. We all do at some point or another. All you do is put that behind you and move on to the next bet. There is no sense in whining about things that you could have done differently, because what does it really matter now? That is why it is called gambling.

I know for a fact that Pet would never, ever, think about doin business behind your back or anyone else's!! He is a straight up guy, end of story.

Why do you have it out for the owner's and the manager of Big Dog's? They have a business to run, and that means making money, not giving the house away. If you were in there shoes maybe you would understand. They do appreciate the action you have stirred up around there lately, and hope it continues. If anything, the pool players themselves should be loving the fire that is inside of them to just play the game we all love so much, because of all the action. Several players that usually take the summers off, won't put down there cues this summer, because they actually are fired up to play and get into action. Des Moines needed someone to shake things up, and that's what you have done. At the same time, you should have respect for the guys that were here before you. They have earned it! Respect goes a long ways with everyone in the pool community. I heard a saying once, "If you have to ask for respect, you haven't earned it yet". Words to live by in a pool community like ours.

I'm just gonna do me, no more laughy joke joke friendly nonsense. I'm either practicin, playin, gambling, or leaving. Bottom line. Maybe when I earn the respect I'll go back to spending a minimum of $50 per trip there. For now I'm still on break, but it wont be my hangout. Last pool room I was at me and the owner would go out of town together to tourneys and stuff. Go in on big bets like it was nothing. I never paid time. I paid for my booze. Know why? Cuz wherever I was action was close to follow and he knows that. That pool room is still having lots of matches to this day. Not sayin I started the action there by any means but I added to it for sure and it was more than appreciated. That's called Southern Hospitality, maybe this place needs a little of that too.

You dont even say your name so Im talkin to the invisible man. I will tell you though I could have been customer of the year, instead I'll spend less than an 18 yr old league player. thats just what it is. End of story.

action! may 23 & 24

myself and jeff sergent will be in town looking to match up. bar-table 8ball is the preferable game or bartable 10ball.big table is possible if the game is close. no 1pkt! we're only coming if there is confirmed action! I don't feel like driving 5 hours for nothing. If jason chance can call me maybe we can get something locked up.Tom McCluskey 847-226-4281. there is possibly a couple of other guys coming, but that will be a last second decision.

If only I wasnt on the visitors team since I'm so new here. Hmmm what does DSM do when challenges like this come up. No clue but I'll sure watch. I got tons of insider info on this and will definitely be lookin to sweat this accordingly. Anyway good luck getting a game Tom, you would have needed a walking stick or a douffle bag if I didnt hate it so bad right now. I'm just a blip on the radar, the big action fellas will probably take you guys up on some action. Wish you the best.

What, you don't wanna drive to DM just to enjoy the scenery and smell the fresh air of the "BIG CITY LIFE" ? lol

My guess is that you would need to get in contact w/ Jody M., Mike A., Pet, or Phil T. They all play your speed(only seen you play once against Jamie F. and just basing your speed off that). If I go up to Big Dog's tonight, I will let them know of your proposed action.

big dog wait staff

Big Dogs needs to have more wait staff on hand during league and tournaments to sell drinks. I can't think of another pool team that drinks more than our team does but seems we always have to walk to the bar to get drinks when there which cuts down on the time we would be drinking! Our team isn't the only team that feels this way. Just something to ponder about when making out the work schedule. I'm sure A.P. alone would make up the difference for the lack of Mike F's spending!

You couldn't possibly have named off my stable and all the guys I back could you? If you read this thread these players are bad money right? How could I ever dream of putting these guys up against guys that have played Jamie? Jamie is just too good, so my guys would have no shot right? Am I serious or not? You be the judge.

Really do you honest believe that? Our matches probably average 30 or so people coming there that wouldnt be there otherwise. You have 1 team. I still spend a few hundred on any given week. Add that up and I hope your team doesnt have to go to AA playin catch up.

"and he came on a white horse with vengeance." Or something like that. Man, I wish you guys were closer. If you could please, rate each and every one of you within a half of a ball for me? Just in case I'm ever five states away and in need of the woofness. So, if I'm an APA 3, but capable of being a 4, what do I need from all you champeens? I'm just an ol' mountain boy who got edumacated.

Craw, I would probably need the 7 from you if you came in town here. I guess it depends on if we are playing left handed or right handed...

Crawfish, Ill take the 3,5,7 and alternate breaks.

2-1 on the money

10 ahead and i start up 3

let me know man.

PS: i was a 4 when i played TAP.

Shame on you. Just fu#@in' shame on you. Please don't respond to me unless you can do it with a straight face. Now, go and grow something.

LOL this reminds me of a good story where the guy goes into your pool room looking for you and you tell him who he's looking for isn't there and you get weight and play him all the way until you are giving him the spot. Oh good times.

Newsflash, Craw will probably pass through at some point, no one will know it's him. There is no google for him, no pics to look up. He's a ghost to you guys. There's nothing in the playbook that could prevent what would happen if he invaded the Hawkeye state. No there wont be time to go get Chad, Jesse, Jaime or anyone of these other players who would have a shot to win. Good old fashioned robbery or nit fest would do down. He's in the money management business lol.

I am trying to grow taller as I am only 5'7 3/4", but the pills, torture machines that pull your arms and legs, and the girlfriend (we won't go there) aren't working...I am actually not a farmer, but more of a west sider preppe lol. I am a big NC fan which Jason can vouch for so I'm jealous of the location!

If you gave him break and ball in hand after the break you win on any legally pocketed ball. Does that sound like a good game to you? If so you might bring me out of retirement early. Craw won't give you that, but I know a guy.

Cheat sheet answer to my question above is NO. You should say NO. OK NO. DARE commercial, NO.

He's also a good fella there Craw. He goes on the do not rob list.
