I don't know if you guys heard this or not, or read about this on the forum, but the Colorado Cue Club has closed their doors. The owner is a friend of mine from way back when I first started playing pool. He just stopped in here about a month ago and we played some pool and caught up on everything going on in our lives. Little did I know that he was about to close his doors. As one of colorado's biggest pool halls, it is kind of shocking to hear this news. The economy is killing a lot of pool halls all over the country. To keep the doors open he resorted back to driving truck to pay the bills, hoping he could keep the lights on. I really have the upmost respect for him, and what he tried to do in Denver. He started out owning a pool hall in Grand Forks, ND. When I first got addicted to the game, his place was where I really got hooked on playing tournaments. From what I hear, the pool community in Denver is shocked as well. He appeared to be doing fairly well, but apparently not. Sad day for pool in Denver! My best wishes go out to him, his family, and everyone that was associated with The Colorado Cue Club.
Just thought I would share a little about this. Let's hope that this economic state that we are in changes soon!!
I actually read online somewhere that it closed because of an altercation with a customer...named Mike Frost! Head this warning Jon Brown...you need to take Mike golfing or something...at least buy him dinner. The fate of your pool hall could be at stake!!:grin-devilish:
Just kidding! Things were getting too serious again. This crisis is certainly affecting everyone! Best of luck to your buddy!
