Update on the Des Moines pool scene

hypothetically speaking........
lets say you ask someone to gamble.
lets say the other person says, "ok, $500".
lets say you throw your wallet on the counter and say "deal".
lets say they look through it and say" thats not $500".
lets say you say, "ok, $200 then".
lets say they say "ok, bet"
lets say you beat them and they say, " I'll be rigth back, I gotta round up
some cash" and come back 5 minutes later without any cash and then
writes you a check.

All this being hypothetical, would that person a be a nit or just a jackass?

You got stiffed if I followed along with the story. Checks dont cash on the spot. Soooo...if you dont get the cash you got stiffed. A nit wouldnt bet you until they had a lock or lowered the bet to something thats hardly gambling while other times they have the nuts and want you to bet the world, thats what nits do.

Mafia Wars, Farmville, and I see today that he is complaining about some other game being a joke because he didn't get a Halloween surprise. I think I just came up with a new nickname: The Facebook Fist.

Better than posting about people's personal finances or drug addictions or other drama that should be left off a PUBLIC forum. Just because someone isn't a regular poster on AZ doesn't mean they don't have access to it. People that do post should keep that in mind.

Fair assessment. In all honesty starting to remember why I left this thread alone in the first place, it cycles through good natured, to light woofing, to loud barking, to disrespectful.

I've got some questions about the 10 ball tournament.

Is it handicapped?
If it is handicapped what are the races like? I'd probably be a B since I've never played, so how hi do the handicaps go and what would that race be like?
How is the turnout, and are there players that dominate every week?

Jason what's your last name?

Non handicapped 10 ball tourney, race to 5 in the winners and 4 in the losers. Rack your own and winner breaks, 10 ball on break does not count in bottom 2 pockets.

The turnout got to a point it had more people than the sunday tourney for a little while but participation has fallen off big time. Depending on who shows up there are always favorites in the field but I can probably name off 12 or so different guys who have won the tournament. If you look in the top 4 though you tend to see a lot of the same names.

Should be a quite day since the pool players in town will be in Ft Dodge. I am thinking Brad and them are going aswelll, but i could be wrong.

Just if anyone didn't know stix in ankeny has free pool m-f from 5 to 8, I'm broke so it nice to have free practice time. Also I may head down to Bid Dogs to practice on the diamonds tonight I'll be the one in the Us Cellular shirt, come play some games.

The handicapped tournament at Big Dogs is a Tuesday 8 ball B and lower, $12 entry. They have kicked so many people out that its getting small now though.

Friday 10 ball - $7(no 10 on break, winner break, race 5-4)
Sunday 9 ball- $15(rack own, alternate break, race 6-5)
