Great to hear about the money added. I"m sure it'll attract more top talent!
Any chance of polling the players about a saturday/sunday tour next year? I belive UWATE or Blackjack suggested it for the players who have regular jobs and have trouble making a friday player's meeting/ tournament start.
 
Unfortunately there are pros and cons with any decisions we make. Some players would rather start on Saturday morning and not have timed matches so they would have to hang out and wait to be called ALL day. Others would rather knock out a couple of rounds on Friday so we can have timed matches throughout the weekend. The same goes for the start time/finish etc. As of now, we are going to stay with Friday-Sunday unless the room has a sufficient number of tables to time out the matches and only play on two days. It will be an ongoing discussion. Thanks for the feedback.

The Seminole Tribe Rocks!

I can't imagine anyone wanting to hang around ALL DAY waiting for their match to be called. That is no fun and when that happens and many players don't make the curtain call because they didn't hear their name called or they were snoozing or eating or whatever, you will hear wailing like you've never heard it before.

What is the necessary number of tables to time out the matches and only play for two days?

Thanks for the nice comments as always Joey. There isnt a locked number of tables to "only play on two days". It depends on the field size, starting/finish times, etc. We all should really plan on getting used to the Tour starting on Friday night, even though I know a lot of you work and are unable to make it every time. This is the route we have chosen to go for a multitude of reasons and it seems like everybody has really enjoyed the new format at the events. Thanks
 
I can appreciate the difficulty in having to try to figure out the logistics of the best way to run the tournament. I don't deign to tell you how to do your job, only to pass on a little info here and there. I know it is impossible to please everyone!

I have never played any of these events and would love to play the one in Atlanta. Any idea of what time I would have to be there on Friday? I understand you have to pre register to play, but I too work on Friday and may be able to get off work early. Just trying to see what my options are. What is the entry fee?
 
I have not played in it either but would love to soon. I was up at strokers for the opener and spent Friday and all day Sunday up there. Very entertaining and very well run tournament!
 
The Atlanta start time will hopefully be decided by the end of the week after I look at some bracket projections and discuss with the owner in Atlanta. It wont start before 6pm on Friday night though. To pre-register, just call me (954) 364-5201 ext. 3 with your credit card information and I will take care of it over the phone. The entry fee is $150

Could you ask the owner of the pool hall to recommend a couple of hotels close to the pool hall to stay at along with telephone numbers for them and maybe street addresses?

It would be nice if this information gets posted on the Main Forum as well.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) there are a ton of hotels in the area, and I dont think it makes sense for me to post information for all of them as you all will have different opinions on where to stay.

Your best bet is to go to orbitz.com and just do a search by address using the address to Mr. Cues and you can sort the results by distance and see rates as well. There are many travel sites like orbitz, but all are similar and offer similar rates as they all pre purchase blocks of rooms from most every hotel. The rates are better on there most times than getting it direct from the hotel.
