Can't wait to see the changes to the ratings of players after all the data has been collected on the US Open this year.

Do you think there will be some major adjustments to the top 100 lists or will this US Open only affect the listings very little?

Seeing a very significant change in someone's rating (and therefore ranking) based on just one event requires two things:
1. A performance level that is significantly different than their current rating.
2. A low robustness (few games in the system).

The more a player under or over performed their current rating, or the less robustness a player has, the more likely you are to see bigger movements. If both those things apply then you will see even larger movements yet. Most of the pros have quite a few games in the system so you won't tend to see many big jumps from one stellar or crappy performance but there will be some shuffling in the rankings for sure.

While he has a fairly large number of games in the system (1,980 at this moment), Billy Thorpe is one of the ones who seems to have performed the most different from his rating (he has very significantly over performed) and so I will be curious to see how much his rating will be affected. I'm guessing it won't be more than 5 points or so but it is just a guess.

For those that have been living under a rock and are unaware, rankings of the top players can be found here:
