US 9 Ball Open

US Open 9-ball

Mark...Is the WPPA an offshoot of the old USPPA? Who's running it? Good luck with your Reno events. No doubt they will be great for the players, as always. Looking forward to seeing you at the Rio next summer!

Scott,
The WPPA (world pool players assn.) is a spin-off of sorts from usppa.
Bob bealieu runs it. Search to find website- I can't remember it.
Last year event had 100 players or so - this year is capped at 128.
It is a handicap format but contact them to see if a player is eligible.
I think it is a $3,000 added event - or a $3,000 first place.

They are a good group trying to improve pool - generally in the SF bay area but some into Oregon and LA.

I posted this originally. Barry should not be run down in any way. He has made this a world class tournament. Only concern is if he will be able to continue. It is a great tournament to attend either as a player or spectator. As a pool fan you can talk about the reality of the challenges he has faces and their relevance. Hope he can pull it off, it is good for pool. Someone posted that if he gets a date it could be added to the BCA qualifying list. Truly hope that is the case, if not I think he will have a BIG problem getting players there.
