Martinez beats Owen owen goes to losers bracket an loses next match an is out of tourney. Ther are several great players in this tourney but I wouldn't think Martinez would be an underdog to anyone.

My money's on a long shot James Walden. He beat Ernesto Dominguez earlier, and I will be trying to get him into some action later tonight. Any takers?

As long as we're starting to pick our favorites... give me the winner of the match between Rafael and Glenn.

I've played with Glenn recently and he's hitting 'em very sporty-like;)

Me I'd like to see Tyler Edey take it.
dont forget about edwin,he is dangerous on the b side.he also finished second last year in both 8 ball and 9 ball at this event.so im picking tyler or edwin to win of course.

You're very right, Edwin is often underestimated and has played his share of giants.

as i recall a year ago at this tourny,he was knock to the b side early on both 8 and 9 ball and won the b side in both to finish second.thats a friggin long road on the b side .lol

I'm rooting for Chris MacDonald to snap this thing off after losing his first match. Considering he works a full time job and just got done building his own house, he's showing some heart to battle back that hard.

According to the brackets up on the AZ homepage, Edwin and Tyler could possibly face each other if Edwin wins his next match. That would be exciting and I know alot of people that wish they would be there to see it!

Crap. :(

Chris MacDonald got knocked out but at least he lost to another local player who my friends know and say is a pretty cool guy so...

Go Jason Williams!

I'm too lazy to check the brackets again but I don't remember seeing Tony Chohan or Billy Palmer (Nor Cals' finest) on the charts. Anyone know if they were playing somewhere else?

It's a shame tyler and Edwin had to play each other on the B side.

Any of you Alberta AZers know if Steve Cherewick (sp?) is going to the 8 Ball event ? He's had some very high finishes over the last few years (2ns and 3rd iirc).
