US National 3-C C'ships start Wednesday

Mostly for those of you in the LA area...

The 2007 US 3-cushion championships will be held at Eight Ball Billiards in Maywood, CA, starting on Wednesday with the finals on Saturday and Sunday. The defending champion is Mazin Shooni who set the US high run record last year in Miami with an 18. Runner-up last year was Pedro Piedrabuena -- Eight Ball is his home room. They will be joined by 46 other players. Play will be on 9 heated Verhoeven tables with Simonis 300 cloth and Aramith Pro Cup (spotted) balls from about 9AM to 7PM each day.

I have just learned Pedro Piedrabuena defeated Mazin Shooni in the finals for the National Three Cushion championship.
