US Open 2026: Frisco, Texas

We went last year on Friday and witnessed some of the best pool I ever watched. We were
hoping for another year in AC but kind of heard they may go to Texas.

Yup, Atlantic City, despite its superb summer weather and its beautiful seaside, was not an ideal home for the US Open. Harrah's hotel really left a lot to be desired. Even though attendance was always strong, I won't miss it at all.

i thought back then that pat was the owner when he was running it. i don't pay much attention to that. but if i knew he had a chance to buy it.

AMTRAK???????????? You think ONE poolplayer OR fan is gonna take a train? You still have to rent wheels or uber to get around. Flights from everywhere to Dallas are pretty cheap. I'm lucky i'm 4hrs away. May finally go to an Open.

I am looking forward to the experiemce. It will be my first Matchroom event. I have been to several Texas Opens and out to Vegas for a summer BCA event. I joined a league a couple of years ago and it has helped my play. I hope I can get some side games in. I don't belong on the floor the big ,boys yet. Do they a seniors Matchroom yet? Hopefully some of you will hit me up for a game.
I am looking for an AirBnB near Lake Ray Roberts for some night fishing and sailing!

Indoor conditions at the WPC seemed fine. So it's not the outside weather, it's the indoor climate control.

The Hanoi Open last year was worse than Lugo, but players strangely did not complain as much. A huge flood/storm before event delayed it, as you recall, and the humidity was incredible. Won't stop MR from returning.

BTW, I thought the event in Lugo was the best attended, and had the best atmosphere, of any MR majors in the UK and Europe. Only the German site a few years ago for one of the Euro opens compared. Europeans evidently don’t do AC well!
