US Open - Archer vs Ashcraft

From the article: "His Glass City Open fourth place finish in 2002 was nothing short of unbelievable as he marched back up through a pro field on the losers side after losing to Detroit pro Ronnie Wiseman in the third round, defeating Corey Deuel and six other strong players before losing to Nick Varner 11-8... "

One of the six other strong players, I believe, was Johnny Archer.

If my memory serves me correctly.

Brandon is a good guy and a great player and has been playing really well lately.
Hope he wins but he's got a tough opponent!!
He is currently sponsored by Jacoby but played with one of my cues until it was stolen a few years ago.
He and Ronniw Wiseman both play out of Hall of Fame Billiards in Warren, Michigan.
Good Luck Brandon!!

That would be Shuler cues? (sp)

Interesting to note that you say his cue was stolen, because there was a guy in a Jackson area pool room not long ago who claimed he beat Brandon out of his sticks and case. Had Brandon's name right on the case.

I wasn't at the pool room at the time, however the guy was described as very, very tall and thin.

Stolen cues were the first thing that came to mind when I was told this, because the guy making the claims of greatness was put down by a local player just 1/2 of Brandons caliber. Not a lot of dough on the line, but word has it that the guy wasn't all that great.

I tried calling Brandon to see if the claims were true about being beaten out of his sticks and case, or if he had some cues stolen. He still hasn't returned my calls.

I can't fathom Brandon putting up his cues & case on the line to begin with. It's not like he can't get financial backing in these parts. It just didn't make sense.
