Us Open Updates....

EFREEEEENNNNN!!!!!!!! Woooooowwwwww!!!!!!!! Was that a match or what? The magician pulled it off. One of the best matches I've ever seen. Hill-hill Efren kicks the 4 3 rails into the 9 and lucks the 9 in the side. Amazing! Worth the price of the PPV hands down. Match of the open!

Man, how I wish I could have been a "rail bird" for that match!

Are you watching the stream, at least? Count your blessings if you are, for you at least saw what is sure to become *yet another* keeper DVD by the Magician! But yes, how I wish I would've been able to get off from work to be down there to play/watch in person...

Daz is inspecting his own rack, long deep breath, fearless champion, adds a lil speed to this snap, wing ball goes straight in, shape on 1, 1 to 2 tough but rest looks fairly easy for hill-hill game, daz must lag whitey into 6 here for bump shape onto 2, misses 1, trying to slide whitey to sdr and between 5 and 6, overthought that shot, efren tough shot on 1, makes 1 but jumps up taking his follow through away, falls at least foot short on 2, has a kick stick on 2, stretching here, instead feathers 2 and play a nice hdr ftr safe, wouldve never thought of that shot or attempted it if i did, daz 8 ft from 2, soft spins 2 rails, 2 brushes 5 to rail to just barely get a rail, efren has easy lock up under 5 now, and does, daz has 1 rail side kick, solid hit, almost scratches, but sells out, efren straight in side on 2 but has to go around world for 4, runs into 6, more trouble here, more scratching of head, has to kick at 4 now, what a kick safe magician thought up and then executed, very softly kicked 2 rails, hitting 4 to rail and uptable, whitey settles behind 6, daz must kick, he is sick, think he is gonna hit it with pace for a roll, i don't see anything else, sure efren does, bulldog still deliberating, after all, this is he match, omfg what a shot, daz hits edge of 4 whitey and 4 go to sdr together and part between 9, cue on one side of 9 4 on other, efren walks up and fires sdr at 4, 4 goes 3 rails around table and kisses 9, 9 slowly drops into side pocket....

OMG what an ending!!! Brutal for Daz... Great match must buy....

Efren wins 11-10

WOW...thanks for all your descriptions! The Magician gets some luck again :)

Could someone tell me what these abbreviations mean:
sdr
hdr
ftr (from the rail?)

And while I'm asking questions...why is Appleton called Daz?

Thanks for the updates!

I guess I'll believe Efren this time if he claims that he got lucky.

For those who watched it, what was the layout like if the 9-ball hadn't dropped ? Clear table for Darren ? Man, that's brutal for Darren! But I am happy Efren won!

And that my friends is why i like call shot games. Glad Efren won but that was brutal ending...LMAO

It was, but at the same time, this is one event where you know what to expect before even signing up -- texas express 9-ball. And to be honest, it wasn't like Efren was riding Lady Luck throughout the match. For he would point -- either with his finger or with the tip of his cue -- where he wanted the cue ball, and that's where it landed. Efren kick-safed his way to victory in this one.

And Darren made it the same -- his kicks were marvelous as well.

Exciting match, regardless of format,
-Sean

I figured side rail ? head rail ? foot rail ?

Fixed it above for you...

Not sure about daz, but I prefer Bulldog.... He's a brit and more fitting for his style of play....

What a match....

Daz got a roll on his thinning the ball to lock up efren, but then efren gets the final roll for the win. Efren did a hand job on his cue while praying in the 9 ball:). He was jumping for joy though, most animated you will see him. Then he did a complete circle of the arena high fiving everyone. What a great match!

Actually, if that 9 didn't drop, Darren would've had a "come with it" shot on the 4-ball (cue ball went all the way up table, 4 ball stayed down table on the foot rail). It wasn't a "gimme" and there was a possibility of a miss -- just like what happened on the 1-ball earlier in the rack (where Darren took his eye of the ball and was trying to do too much with the cue ball).

Efren "just got lucky" again. As the old adage goes, "the more he plays, the luckier he gets."

yes efren did see 9 slowly drifting towards side and reeled it into pocket like his cue was a fishing reel... it was fn hilarious....
