us open venue

Hi,
i haven't the opportunity to watch the us open venue in person and i'm only basing my opinion only to videos.
I miss the old us open venue, i found it much more fascinating than the new one. With that moquette ( or are they carpets? I don't think so) and soffused light, i think it was a perfect venue for a tournament. With the "new" venue maybe the visibilty is better, the location is more functional, i don't know but it feels much more artificial with much less personality and atmosphere.

The tournament simply outgrew the old location. I've been going for about 25 years and have been at several locations and it has just been growing to larger events. The current location was built with the Open in mind.
