USBA Nationals Complete Results

Jim; looks like Miguel Torres had the, BEST GAME 2.778, and the HIGH RUN 11, was shared by 3 players, Pedro, Jae and Miguel.

Going by the chart you furnished.

P.S. Looking at the chart again, I noticed we had ONLY 12 players out of 42 that averaged .800 or better. On a better note, 7 out of the 12 players who averaged over .800, did average over 1.00.

Maybe it's time to introduce a aggressive instruction program by the USBA in our country.

And two players who averaged over one, didnt make the finals;wheras, three players who averaged less than one made the finals.
Conclusion: it's the "W" that counts

best average ?

Great tournament! I noticed that Miguel Torres had a best game posted of 2.778 on the final rankings chart. Could this be a typo?

No typo. He had a 9 inning game in the prelims.

Georgie; before I adopted, A complete "3 Ball control" game, I was considered a VERY GOOD shot maker, with a pretty damn good stroke. In the early years of competing in tournaments I over powered a lot of players with these attributes. So, with this being said, I won over 100 tournaments, and sometimes did NOT have the highest avg. of the finalist. But one thing that I learned gambling at 3 cushion during most of my career is how to manage and WIN games.

There are MANY ways to intimidate your opponent at the table, everyone that ever competed against me knew that, I was an extremely fierce competitor, they would feel like they would have to make the final point twice against me, before I would ever give up! I think all the years in the beginning playing for money helped me to learn how to pace myself in many different stages of any particular game!

My instructional books/DVD's are ALL about applying the concepts to control ALL 3 balls, but, the VERY first line in the book before I give my theory on position play is,
"IT IS PARAMONT to SCORE the POINT FIRST"!

In the prelims, the players kept their own innings. In the semi-finals and finals, we had scorekeepers. Therefore, the "official" best game was Pedro's in the finals and Jae Hyung Cho had the "official" high run of 11 in the semi-finals. Both players made an additional $100. The best games, high runs and averages displayed represent the entire tournament including the preliminary rounds.
