USBA Newsletter -- Jan 2008

I give Jim Shovak credit for doing a great job. But wouldn't it be better if member of Usba could talk Paul into publishing "ProfessorQball" monthly. I myself would support a monthly subscription. I'm surprised the Newletter has nothing about the History Making 2008 Ladies 3 Cushion Tournament??
 
When I made the Newsletter, I was not trying to promote any events, such as the Women's Nationals. That has already been done. Besides, I didn't have any more room. It was already 26 pages long (I also had to send out a couple hundred through the post office), and there were so many things that needed to be covered.

I have already spoken to Paul Frankel about doing a PQB that would cover only 3-cushion. The problem is we don't have enough people to buy them and the costs would be very great. At this point, Paul would only end up printing several hundred which would not be cost-effective.

Perhaps he can do his regular paper monthly, as you suggested. That would be a great help to me. But I am not sure that Paul would want to do it (more work) and his expenses would probably double. He would have to charge much more to his subscribers and I am not sure he is willing to take that chance. I'll run it by him when I see him this weekend.
 
Jim, I realize you have a great responsibility, as USBA Secretary, and you're right with Usba growing more information need to be gather, as tournament events increase and more people inquire about 3Cushion.

I did notice an increase to membership is coming, $50.00 from $36.00.

My hat off to you. Say HI to Dieckman and Paul. I know with all the 3-Cushion tournaments at DCC, you be one business person.
