Does any one have a use for shaft blanks that don't have straight grain? I have a bunch from the last batch of boards I cut. For the most part they could be used in cheap sneakys I guess. They can go cheap.

Sell them to Joey for coring dowels for Brazilian rosewood fronts. :D

Seriously, if no bites here, you can always sell them on ebay (assuming you have a sellers account) as lower grade for cheap.

While I want only straight grained as well and have my share of dowels I probably will not use, if the blanks stay straight and the wood is high quality, they can still play very well.

Hold up, Im under the impression that if they are not good enough for shafts then the are also not good enough for core blanks. Do the right thing and burn them before someone like me gets a hold of them and think thery are good.

The grain does not run straight enough for the shaft. The shafts have stayed straight through the cutting process so far. Still straight but not right for shafts.

Jack how are they??

fine for coring,,,will use some for experimenting with tapers and jump shafts...again, thanks........j

If they are .900 + they could be used for making rings for joint collars
