that would be fun to play in, I have ZERO shot of even getting into the $$$, I'm 95% sure I would go 2 sets and out, unless I got a real lucky draw, and who I played was having their worst day of their life, and I was having the best day of my life and I got every roll, then I might win one match but its doubtful, however the experience of playing in it would be cool, expensive but cool just to do it once.

If my back was better I would give it a try and then stay and watch and win my entry fee back with rail bets. Man I wish I could go, I never knew how bad chronic pain is, it ruins your life its like what jail must be except the bed is softer and the food is better but I'm locked up in my house constantly, I play 3 times a week on average, I wnat to play so bad right now but I couldnt get down on a shot, take care of your health guys. Sorry to ramble I'm just a bit depressed, i'm not looking for sympathy etc just thinking out loud- took more pain meds than normal and that makes me sick and depressed i'm very sensitive to drugs and hate drugs.

I did meet Scott Lee thankfully mt back was fair that day, and like it has been said here he is a good instructor, I had never seen myself on video play it was interesting-about what I expected too see. I only have 2 things I need to adjust on my stroke, it will take some time and with out a doubt in a few months I'll see an improvment, my stance, head position were good, just alittle more pause before pullingthe trigger and a little elbow drop on follow shots, nothing I cant fix easily other than that i'm fundementally sound-i might make this paragrap a thread.

best regards,

I can sympathise with you Fatboy. I've had problems with my legs for awhile now, mostly the ankles & knees which was finally diagnosed as gout recently. When I get a bad attack my foot swells up like a balloon & even the weight of a cotton sheet on it is unbearable. It's hard to describe pain like that, I know anyone else who has this problem will understand what I mean. I'm on daily medication now to help prevent severe attacks but I still had one about a week ago, and it does make you depressed. Sleep at night is impossible & there have been nights when I just sit on the edge of the bed not knowing whether to scream or burst into tears.

I have been known to play pool during these episodes. League only, no tournaments, simply because I don't want to let my team down. That would depress me even more. People look pretty shocked when they see me hobbling around the table, then I show them the swelling of my ankle above my untied tennis shoe. They must think I'm crazy. But I'll still play, and bizarrely I seem to play well when this happens. Maybe I just play well under adverse conditions, hell I played pool both evenings when my parents passed away & was the only one on my team to win!

As for the US Open, I too have the idea of one day giving it a go. I'm sure I'll be just donating my fee but I'd love to be able to say I threw my hat in & tried. Besides, I've found in the past when I played bigger events it always did wonders for my confidence when I got back to my usual playing ground. For awhile I felt like I was unbeatable!!! Shame it didn't last.

So, Fatboy. I hope one day we'll both have the opportunity to experience the honour of playing in that great event & if you get there before me, I'll be cheering for you. You strike me as one of the good guys, sir. I wish you all the best in feeling well, and thank you for giving me an opportunity to get some of my own thoughts off my chest.
