The usps is being ran by a trump appointed director. He was appointed during trumps first reign. Naturally he was put there to destroy our postal Service. The non union fedex is just about as bad
.ups does a good bit better. They are union.
Once they retired so many employees early, hired on temps and part timers to avoid costs, service went to hell in a hand basket.
The postal service has lost money ($billions) for years. Time for reform, refocus, or extinction. The last time, and I mean the LAST time I used them, I was charged $35.00 in priority charges, for a package weighing less than 4lbs. It took this band of merry incompetents, 8 days to deliver a package to a destination that was literally 2 hours and 9 minutes away from where it was dropped off...And don't even get me started on their "tracking" numbers.
Never again.
The reason they have lost money for years is republican lawmakers forcing the overfunding of employee retirement plans for one thing. The problems as of late with delivery is mismanagement by design by a man appointed as director by Donald Trump. They were doing perfectly fine until Congress mandated that they prefund retiree health care benefits 75 years into the future. So they're currently saving money for a retiree who hasn't been born yet.
USPS issues go WAAAAY beyond/before DT. Your TDS has fogged your brain.

USPS cost $10B in 2024 of a total Federal spend of $6.75T. That's .0015%.
If you're looking to save Federal $$$, check the couch cushions first.
My mistake. I actually did a search to double-check what I was saying but didn't see that it had been repealed.

USPS is the ONLY delivery service in many parts of the country, so damaging it hurts a lot of people (especially in rural areas). The quality of service does seem to depend on where you are located and how you're using it: for me it's fantastic and I prefer to everything except UPS. I know for some it's shotty, but nothing targeted budget can't fix.
You are correct. Republican lawmakers have been trying to ruin the postal Service for years and years. Trying to privatize it. Trouble is, it's in the Constitution. I'm in no fog . Maybe you need to cut out the weed?
