V is for Vollmer

> This is the 2nd time I've seen one of his cues here in the last year or so where I just have to comment on how nice the shaftwood is. As bad-ass as that cue looks, that still has to be an awesome player. Tommy D.
I have had 2 Vollmers come through my hands.
The first one had some very nice shafts that were very dense and played exceptionally well.
My second Vollmer has the best shafts I have ever seen and play even better.
MV does get some great shaft wood!
I have been told that the shafts actually come from the states since the supply of good maple is hard to find in Europe.

That is a beautiful design for a cue.
Michael has done it once again with exceptional design, perfect inlays, and the sharpest points that I have seen.

Enjoy and looking forward to seeing more pictures and hearing about the play of this cue.

marcone, realizm-->thanks for the nice comments :)

James-->yes i totally agree it is a work of art, and im looking forward to playing with it ;)

Myron-->agree that Michael constructs his cues to the highest standards, and uses the best materials he can get. ill post a detailed review and get more pictures out(though im not a good photographer, ill try) once cue is in my hands.

ZH-->haha yep i couldnt resist getting matching jps even though they are a little exp, but after seeing the pics i think they are definitely worth it :) dont beat me too badly tmr :p

I know this is a totally crazy thought, but.......

I wish the wrap didn't cover the bottom of the recut snakewood/ivory points, so you could see how they curve around where the cutting tool path ended. That is too cool looking to me.

Stunning cue.

That's a gorgeous cue! Congrats bro! Glad u decided on the matching JPs!!

I can feel the Vollmer bug on me now :grin:

Wow! Who does that? really...his point work is f l a w l e s s. Black Boar matches up, but damn. That is just awesome work.

Congrats man!

Scott-->i love that pic of the forearm during construction as well :)

Benny-->yep, i couldnt help myself :) haha order 1

Impact Blue-->you can see the BB influences on the Vollmer cues, esp. the older ones, as Michael learnt from Tony :) Both have since seperately developed their ideals to a new level imho ;)

fiolledapool-->you are probably right, there are many great cuemakers in Europe and its impossible to say who is the best. I do rate the hit, design and workmanship of Vollmer cues as one of the best in the world though :)
