validity of Platinum Billiards break cue ratings

In your experience, does the Fury break cue rank 3rd as it did in the Platinum Billiard upply tests?

Hey Shane,

I don't know if this has been brought up before but is there any chance Platinum Billiards would be willing to test the X-Breaker, the original and the new Samsara versions? I'm willing to bet a few people on here would be interested in seeing how they perform.

Best of prosperity with your business!

Sharkyeyes,

Thank you for your interest in the X Breaker.

The original version will no longer be available on the market. The new X Breaker is built per our design and taper spec. by Samsara cues.

Samsara builds most of the new X Breaker for us except the tip and the leather wrap.

We have been contacted by Shane and Platinum a few times about sending them a X Breaker, unfortunately, we never had any X breaker in stock.

I will be in the US Open on 25th, I am also planning on going to the Windy City and all the major shows and tournaments this year. I will always have a table at my booth for everyone to try the X breaker and other jump break cues as well.

The reason why I travel so much is because I firmly believe you need to try the X breaker youself and compare it with other cues before you really know how the X Breaker performs.

My rule at the show is you can borrow my table and test other cues, as long as you also try the X Breaker.:) I have sold a lot of X breaker that way.:D

I am offering Azer a 10% at the US Open, hope to see you there.

Thank you.

Richard

Thanks for your reply Richard. I really admire your innovative product and ingenuity. I was actually lucky enough to break a few racks with the original X-breaker a little while back and was very surprised in how well it performed. IMO I believe the X-breaker is the best break cue out there. Massive amounts of power from little effort!

I was just curious on how well it performed when compared to the other break cues on PB's site.

Shane, I was also wondering if there's a way Platinum Billiards can test the effectiveness in jump cues? Possibly the height of the cue ball with a constant force being applied? Just a thought.

Thanks again! Best of luck with both your respective ventures!

Platinum

Well you can say what you want to about Platinum's test, but I find them to be pretty much accurate when it comes to their deflection ratings. Why is that you ask? Well because I have shot with most of the cues and shafts that they tested. I too will put Schon and Joss at the bottom of the list for deflection. Why? Because they don't flex, they shoot like a steal rod. Therefore they push the cue ball more off line when using english, and Platinum's tests confirm this. Now this doesn't mean that Schon and Joss aren't good cues, but it does show me why so many people put predator shafts on those two brands of cues! They also explain how they tested them, so if that isn't valid I don't know what is. I don't think they are just trying to move products as much as they want their buyers to be aware of what they are buying.

Just my thoughts!

Thank you so much. You have been very kind.:)

Since I have no idea what kind of equipment they use, or how they conduct their tests, or anything regarding these tests that they are doing for that matter, we cannot really comment on these test results.

Thank you.

Richard

I purchased the Fury J/B cue about 8 months ago. I had been thru 4 different J/B cues previous and not satisified with any of them...I love the Fury...It breaks hard. Scatters the balls and hits with a big cracking sound....I can jump over balls better than with my Frog....
I found one on e-bay for $119.00.....New......
My pool league buddies are always asking what I am breaking with after they see and hear it breaking a rack.....Two of my friends ordered one and they love theirs also....
The reason I purchased the Fury J/B in the first place is because I saw its rating on Platium Billiards....
