valley bar boxes

There's really no point in buying a new valley bar box. You can buy a used one, replace the rails with Ridgeback Rails and replace the cloth with Simonis and the table will play 10x's better than a brand new valley. Plus it should cost less than half of the price of new table.

I've set up many used Valley's of my own and of others. I found 4 1/8" corners and 4 1/2" side pockets with the Ridgebacks and Champion Tour cloth plays the best IMO. Johnnyt

That's exactly what I did and had Donny of SD Billiards do the work. Best playing table without a doubt. Good luck Pilgrim on your quest.

that sounds like a plan

my opinion (which isn't worth anything)

I will be honest and say buying a valley bar box is the last thing you want to do.

I would buy anything other than a valley, really! the raised edges on the corners will damage your cues, the table will not make you "better" and its expensive.

I am sure in Houston you find an 8 footer (or a 9 footer if you have room) that you can put good rails on and fast cloth also tighten the pockets up and then when you play on a valley at league you can destroy that table.

Man I have been through 4 tables, so far in my youthful existence, the first was a valley (paid $1,000 for it) if I had been smart and bought the table that I have now my game would be far better.

Anyways if you can't tell I dislike valleys and advise against it.

yikes for 2500 retail or the 1800 they're asking id get me another gc
those used ones at 600 on cl aint so bad lookin after all

You should compare a new GC price then vs new Valley price, not used vs new. 600 for a used one is too much I think unless it's in like new shape.

Personally I do not dislike Valley tables - I have no problem appreciating them for what they are. There is no question that they are built like an Army Tank, you will never wear one out.

Valley has sold more pool tables, by far, then any other company, ever!

These tables are every where, and when there is one where I am, I enjoy shooting on it, granted this is a rare event for me.

Here is one thing I completely agree with - "...you find an 8 footer (or a 9 footer if you have the room) ... ...and then when you play on a Valley at League you can destroy that table."

I know that is wonderful advice. Perhaps the best way for a beginner type player to improve their game quickly.

previously owned a 9ft gc

im getting into 3c with a vengeance amd buying a gabriels 10fter
the only space id have would be for a valley, atm

I like the previous comment appreciate them for what they are
just want to play some pool at home and this will be the only way

dont have the time to get real good, nor tryin to go pro
have just enough time to enjoy myself

also I dont play in a league

I am a big fan of Valley tables. They're what I grew up playing on. They can be a real good time for any level player. Perfect for a home, garage or rec room, in my opinion. A used Valley in good shape can be had for around $500, more or less. And since they sold so many and aren't that complicated, they are not difficult to find solid resources for service.

Table

The valley coin op table is a speaker box cabinet design, poor design that gravity beats in time..
