Valley Forge Super Billiard Expo

2 miles away is too many miles away.... A large % of these preople are drinking and a larger % are unfamillier with the area. There has got to be a convention center complex somewhere on the eastern seaboard that has floor space, hotel accomadations & restaraunts all in one place.

First off, a big thank you to Allen and his team to bring us this event!

I was there last year and I will be there again!

I was there last year and I agree, it sucked. Obviously Allen heard all of our complaints, or is a smart enough business person, or both, to have moved it to a new location. Give the man a chance to figure this out.

I for one will not take one person's (Banks ) opinion on these facilities. We heard your comment (Banks) and we get it, you won't be there....move on with your negativity.

There are a couple of hotels within a couple miles, which in my opinion is close enough to walk and from my understanding the Hotels in the area will be offering 24 hour shuttles. If that is the case, then drink away, go take a nap, go back to the hotel and eat, or go for the swim. I for one am going to play pool, not swim.

Or I have a better idea. We could just all say the hell with it and not go, and then there would be one less event next year. As we all know, there are so many to choose from.

Again I say, give Allen a break here and see what he does with the new location.

I've been going to the Expo at Valley Forge for many years as it was less than 30 minutes from my house. And what a great venue it was. Yes last year's location was bad. I too have been to events at what will be the new location and am cautiously optimistic about how it will be for next year. That said my hotel is already booked and I will play in the event regardless as I really look forward to it every year.

Well, lets see. When Allen first moved SBE from New Jersey to Valley Forge oh those many years ago, bet the posts you might have read on AZ would have sounded a great deal like those today. Of course AZ wasn't in existence then. Wow, gotta climb those stairs. Two floors? No lights on half the tables. The food at the hotel was expensive and not very good. The hotels were raping the players with those prices. Didn't stay at the host hotel but the nearest other hotel was five miles away. Could go on and on.

Give Allen a break. Last year was not that bad. Perhaps rough around the edges. We all got used to the VFCC. Perhaps the new venue will turn out to be just as great for other reasons! JMHO.

The game

Despite negativity of past surroundings, I think its a great event to be around so many years. The game is always going to be the thrill. Once you are on the table moving those balls around, the criticism and remarks are going to fall to the waist side. I am just happy to have an event like this that is not way down south or far west. Events like this one will always undergo change for better or for worse. Enjoy the good times and grind through the bad, that's all.

All this has been re-hashed 18 months ago, when Allen and company had to move from the Valley Forge Convention Center.

There are a bunch of hotels centered around the NJ Convention Center. Many of the hotels have shuttle buses. I stayed at one of these hotels, and the they ran shuttle all weekend.

As for those who are staying away, thank you so I don't have to hear you complain in person. I'm looking forward to having a good time.

Man, a lot of criticism, but i wonder how may ppl have actually seen the location?

For one, the hotels are not "miles and miles away". The Convention Ctr is located in an office/business park. The hotels, while not attached to the site, are only within 1 to 1.5 miles away, in teh same office park. Basically, you go 1.5 miles down the road, no turns, and there are 4 hotels right there, at each corner of a 4 way intersection. It's my understanding that most convention ctrs do not have hotels attached to them. We might have gotten spoiled with the VFCC.

For the drinkers, there is supposed to be a shuttle. For that matter, you aren't gonna have any cops doing a DUI stop in an office park complex.

Since when have Pool players become such prima donnas?

Super Billiards Expo

Just have to make my point clear. I am not trying to knock the Expo.I have only missed one or two in the past. I am just trying to make a point, not only from the way I felt, but from the way many others felt as well.I love the Super Billiards Expo, however, the change was quite shocking.I just wanted to make a couple of points which seemed not to get out there. All I am saying is, I would like to make it better rather than see people lose interest. I mean no disrespect to Allen as I know he is trying. I did not mean to upset Azer's.I just thought by placing tis topic in wanted for sale forum, more people would see it. This Expo is very large for wanted for sale items as I thought this topic would be directly related. I do not want to put this on the wanted for sale forum but if some one can help spread the word I would appreciate it. Banks-

Personally I'm pretty happy about the move. This will allow me to attend this year. I'm mainly located in Montreal, Canada... The new location is 6 hours away from home. Can't be any happier. :)

dd cue repair you were the guy putting on fake Tiger tips last year. You think I dont remember you. Sometimes its better if you keep your mouth closed. Again Choo Choo to you

I can't wait for the Expo although it is MUCH farther for me. Maybe I will hit NYC afterwards, but teh SBE is one of my favorite things to do all year.

It makes sense from a business perspective. Edison is an easy drive or train ride from NYC, which is a much bigger market than Philly. I suspect they'll attract a lot more day trippers.

That shows how much you know I was not at the SBE last year. I have never put on fake tips and if you going to start telling lies you should just stop talking now.
I cant believe that you would stoop to lies.
I like to talk smack just as much as anyone else.
You have went over the line with this.
