First off it's an 8' Valley be very careful of a warped slate...balls will roll toward middle of table.

Valley 7' have Valley or Valley Cougar chrome signature on the side and a cougars head on the corner pockets. If the table is set up, play on it for a few minutes shooting ball slowly down the rails. Also do this corner to corner in an X. Push on the table to see if it has play in it W/O moving the feet. If it does this can usually be easily fixed by tightening the two bolts under each pocket. 9 out of 10 you'll need new rails...about $175, more for Ridgebacks.

An un-level Valley can mean many things, from old glue left under the edges of the slate, warped slate, wooden ledge that holds slate up sagging, or just plain needs leveling by screwing the legs up or down.

For an old (over 10 yo) Valley that is sturdy and level, I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it. A fairly new Valley that has good cloth on it, good rails, and is sturdy and level...$800-$1200. Anything over $900 should only be a few years old. Prices vary depending what state you are in. Johnnyt

I had a 7 ft Valley black cat that I gave away a couple of years ago. You can sometimes find them for a little of nothing. I wouldn't spend over $800 for one though.

Table

The odds of you finding a non-coin op is low. So when you go to look at the table remove the ball door and see the serial number located at the top center of the side panel and check here http://www.valley-dynamoparts.com/docs/DateyourValleytable_002.pdf

If you come across a valley you can't ID, snap a photo and post it here and you'll get some help...there is several older valley table models that most have not seen or heard of.

Best of luck
