Value Increase/Decrease...

What is a good quantity of cues a cuemaker should build to keep him/her in demand?

I know limited production helps increase the "want" and value of cues, but what about not enough cues built each year? Will the value decrease?

I'm starting to build more cues and am getting orders. I was thinking about building 24 cues per year max. (for now)

Just some thoughts,
Zim

It's not how many you make, but how well you make them & your price, that will keep you in demand. To make 24 Qs a year & still have a full time job, will take a lot of equipment & ALL of your time. For 18 years I repaired & made Qs. Believe me with the repairs & full time job, some years I only had time to make 4-5 Qs. I've done as many as 2000 repairs in a year. The most I ever made was 72 Qs & they were almost all bar Qs, cut in half & added a new shaft. Last year was my 1st year of retirement & I made 30 Qs & did $9000 in repairs. That's a full load for me. Out of the 30, 17 were over $1000. Right now I have enough Qs ordered, to take me to the end of the year. Don't forget the other things in your life or you'll be making Qs all alone...JER

Zim, I agree with JER. If you're building quality cues that hit well at a reasonable price, The demand should be there whether you build 10 cues a year or 50. If you're building crap, limiting your production won't help your demand..
