I have what is a McDermott E-L1(as id-ed by another member). I got this a few years ago in a trade. I was just wondering if you guys could give me an idea of the actual value of this stick. The shaft is discolored and there is one chip in the paint, also the ferrule is scratched up and discolored besides that everything else is great.

Thanks for any help. :)

Brand new it is worth 249.00. I would have to say used with a chip you would be in the 160.00-180.00 range.

I was going to guess more like about $120, but then again I don't appraise cues either! LOL

And the shaft can be cleaned!

Check that, It was originally 219.00 and in a mint shape would be 259.00. Due to less than mint shape it would be closer to a 180.00 range. It is the EL1 model.

LOL well he was asking what the "value" was  I personally wouldn't buy it and I'm sure that on ebay it will only fetch 80.00-100.00 at best but then again everyone is looking for some kind of deal on the bay.;)

Add $120 to the retail price, divide it by pi, and then multiple it a factor of 0.978 and that should give you a ballpark for the McDermott with a chip in the finish. Oh, wait, just saw the wolf.....subtract $10 maybe. :)

(just revisited my McDermott calculator and saw where my calculation was wrong.....sorry....it's fixed now)

haha, thanks guys. I wasn't planning on selling it, I was just curious as it's been sitting in my closet untouched for about two, maybe three years. :)

Realistically, the cue is worth what someone will pay for it, anything else is just an individual opinion. On a serious note McDermott's do not hold their value unless they were made before 1989 or they are a very rare model that very few were made of. The fact that this cue is a Decal / Transfer cue will decrease the value even more, unless you can find someone who has to have a Wolf cue, and they like your's. This is where the cue's value is based on what someone will pay for it.

Cues are like everything else, one persons taste concerning an item will greatly differ from another's in many areas. The trick when selling anything is finding a buyer who likes and must have what you have for sale.

Have a good night!!!!
