Van Boening's Break

If you watch his video you will that he is also hitting down on the CB. This is what creates the little hop when he hits the one ball. Other than the speed he hits the balls this is another reason why is break is so good. We practice this by putting a pencil 10 inches in front of the CB when practicing the break. The ball seem to explode with less effort. Making it easier to control the CB.

I've thought he hits down on it, but it doesn't look like he does. He aims really low on the cue ball, but I can't tell where he's hitting?

Even in these couple pictures you have here he is still hitting down a little on the CB. See how the back of the cue is slightly elevated? If someone has a slow motion video of his break I would love to see it. Just from watching break over and over when he was out here is where I seen hitting down on the ball .

He is about as level as can be considering the existence of the end rail, and where he is striking on the cueball.
