Vaping

Mine smells like oatmeal cookies.

I'm a non smoker and one of the guys where I hang out vapes and it smells like oreo cookies.

I actually think it smells good, certainly better than the normal pool hall smell

Understand its not a matter of if, its a matter of when that smoking or vaping will effect your health. Lets not forget health insurances rates either. When you vape you are considered a smoker.

I smoked for many years and I'm not as healthy as I should be. To the OP and others that smoke or vape. I prefer to think vaping is the lesser of the two evils, however if one vapes at high nicotine levels I doubt there is much difference.

To sum it up I quit smoking and started vaping a few years ago. I set myself up not to fail by having back up electronic units, liquid, atomizers etc. Then I gradually cut the nicotine mixture from 18mg down to 1mg over approximately the last two years. Then it was fairly easy to ween myself off tobacco, nicotine and vaping. I still have the all vaping stuff but I put it away.

To keep this pool related I feel better and have more stamina plus my eyes are not near as dry. Ya gots to see dem balls - ya know?

I'm not a fan of the guys who blow bubblegum flavored smoke all over the place. It's certainly better than a cigarette but the room can start smelling sickly sweet if enough people are vaping. At the very least don't send out four foot long streams of smoke right over the pool table.

I've never even smoked a cigarette but I watched 2 of the best players alive play a big gambling match in New Orleans a couple of months ago and they were both vaping after every turn at the table to stay in the zone, anyone have any Idea which vape works best for this ?
well, are you 100% sure they were vaping tobbacco  ? it's possible to vaporize many kind of herbs, medicinal or not  :D ... but that's another story, indeed non-pool related :p

E Liquid Ingredients:
Propylene
Glycol (PG) – this is used as a base or carrier for the nicotine and flavors. PG is widely used as a food additive and can be found in many things that we regularly eat. PG can also be found as an additive in some medicines.

Vegetable Glycerine (VG) – also used as a base or carrier for the nicotine and flavors in e-liquid. VG is a plant based substance and is sometimes made from coconut or palm oil. VG is also widely used as a food additive.

Water – no explanation needed

Flavorings – food flavorings are added to create a specific taste

Nicotine – most brands offer anywhere from 0mg of nicotine to 24mg of nicotine in their e-liquid

Vaping helped me stop smoking and I enjoy it. It's nice being able to take a hit here and there while shooting without going outside. That being said I'm not one of the idiots blowing clouds all over. The pen I have you can close the air chamber and there is almost no cloud at all. Even then I normally go to an area no one else is in, take a hit or two and put it back away.

That must be the answer right there!!! Propylene Glycol is automotive antifreeze that is not green, like GM's Dexcool. Ethylene Glycol is its green cousin that we all have seen leaking in our driveways for decades, at least since alcohol made its exit as antifreeze anyway.

IL will soon close this loophole and no vaping allowed indoors. Thank Goodness, stuff smells like crap.

They should outlaw strong perfume, too. ;)

They're outlawing it because they don't have the taxes in place to recoup what they lose in lost cigarette sales.

I quit a 1.5 pack a day, 20 year habit with vaping. I then got off of nicotine entirely. This was 30 months ago. Made a huge difference for me.

I was a pack a day for over 10 years and it helped me get off nicotine. I had tried quitting before, but as soon as i would have one, i'd be back to a pack a day. The desire is not there for me anymore.

I'm right there with you guys.

Had my last cigarette almost 2 years ago after a 20 year-long pack-a-day habit. Vaped for about 6 months starting at 24mg nicotine and stepping it down until I was using zero nicotine juice, then quit vaping too.

I had tried to quit cigarettes a few times prior to the vaping age, unsuccessfully. Vaping made it as easy as it could be.

Plus the pool hall is not nearly as smoky these days.

You may want to do your research on vaping. They are finding the same nasty shot in there that are in cigarettes. If they can completely control what is in the liquid why then is there still all the nasty stuff? I don't want to breath it in. Take it outside.

You're talking about diacetyl, which can cause "popcorn lung", since people who worked in popcorn factories inhaled the stuff as "artificial butter" dust.

What the reports don't mention is that smoke also contains diactyl, but in concentrations that are 750 or so times what's in the vape that has it.

Please don't put vaping and smoking in the same arena.

Many of us (me and others I know personally) who switched from smoking to vaping are very happy and believe it's healthier choice. I am personally very happy that I made the switch to vaping 3 years ago (and gave up smoking) and believe I am very much healthier person as the result of this change.

I find that many negative comments regarding vaping comes from people who are uninformed or misinformed on the topic.

Unfortunately, vaping is picked up by young hip crowd who's more interested in blowing the biggest cloud possible. I vape away from the crowd, outside and am OK with that. Unlike smoking, no one in the office can "smell me" when I return to the office :)

Same here. Smoked for 18 years and quit thanks to vaping. Misinformation is rampant and mostly from people who do not do their research or get their information from whatever the news decide to run as filler material and grab headlines. I make my own eliquid, always buy from reputable suppliers.

I have been able to run with out being winded in the first 10 steps..... I wake up every morning with out spending my first 15 minutes coughing up a lung... I sleep better... Got back my sense of taste and smell.

In regards to vaping in public, I agree with what a lot of people said with the younger crowd and dick measuring in public with who can blow the biggest cloud. Keep that at home...

Addiction

Damn addictions. I have had the nicotine habit most of my life. I quit for 22 years, 3, years , 2 years, 6 months, weeks, etc. Its now been over 3 years since my last cigarete. What a filthy and harmful habit.

When I grew up every one smoked, in the theaters, airplanes, social gatherings, etc.
Cigars, chewing, cigarettes, vaping, all of it is bad for a persons health. I still smoke a cigar a couple of times a week, but like Bill Clinton, I don't inhale!

Nicotine, to much alcohol, over eating, nail biting, excessive talking, etc. All of it can usually be traced back to stress or some other emotional issue, because so much of our stress comes out in some sort of oral behavior.

Feeding our addictions puts us in our "happy place" and we get some satisfaction from it, or we wouldn't do it. Some are fortunate and wired in a way that allows them to handle stress differently , in a healthier way. As our world becomes more crowded, confusing, busy and dangerous more stress related symptoms will show up. Just the way it is.
