Is that what they're calling Winnipeg Wheelchair these days or have they finally figured out how to plant seeds indoors in Sasquatch land? I suppose it is possible for BC product to make it to your province, I just figured most of the supply would either go south or stop in Alberta.
They should outlaw strong perfume, too.
They're outlawing it because they don't have the taxes in place to recoup what they lose in lost cigarette sales.
I quit a 1.5 pack a day, 20 year habit with vaping. I then got off of nicotine entirely. This was 30 months ago. Made a huge difference for me.
Yes, if a female was taking out a bottle of perfume and spaying into the air every 60 seconds, yeah, ban perfume as well.
Not sure why I have to breathe in what they are vaping, or have my clothes smell like crap when I get home. Last night was bad, stunk the whole place up. This is a small bar, and with no smoking laws in affect, they don't have the same ventilation stuff they had back then cause it's not needed anymore.... until now.

@ GREENFELT - ecigs/vaping have pretty much saved pool. when NC went 100% non-smoking, and you're paying table time by the hour, and you're spending 10mins outside in all kinds of weather to smoke....fill in the _____. per my pulmonologist, ecigs are considered as NON-smoking. they are a Godsend when you're in the hospital, cause the patch doesn't work & they won't give you pain pills to get your mind off of not smoking. there are $60 high-tech electronic vapes, for which you can get numerous flavors, which do cause odors. or you can get a $5 ecig (looks like a cig & has 400 hits) and doesn't smell. both are cheaper than real cigs & keep you at the table.
you can also somehow smoke MJ via the vapes.... how "zoned" were your players?
The smart ones shoot pool for a few hours then go outside and smoke without the table time. Nobody knows what the side affects are to that stuff, plus it just stinks. Once a few states pass laws regarding this, I'll be happy camper. I'm not going back to this league again to smell like crap because of a 'vaper".
I've never met a pool player who quit POOL because of the smoking laws, not one. EVER. I've met a ton who stopped going because of the smoking.
I am glad that vaping has helped people to stop smoking, and I hope it leads to quitting all together. I am a reformed smoker, btw. I am talking about Diacetyl as well as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acetone, which are all carcinogens, to name a few. Depending upon the temperature at which the device operates at they have been found at or near the same levels as smoke. Anytime you heat something up you are causing chemical reactions and creating new compounds, you are also trusting tobacco companies to provide a clean product, not to mention the fact that you have no idea what happens to the flavor additives when they are heated. I don't care what you choose to put in your lungs, go outside so I don't have to be forced to ingest it. You have the choice, you are taking my choice away from me.
well, are you 100% sure they were vaping tobbacco :grin: ? it's possible to vaporize many kind of herbs, medicinal or not
... but that's another story, indeed non-pool related

After the "second handers" eliminate smoking how long will it take before they complain about the awful smell from diesel pick-ups, 2 stroke yard keeping equipment, or collector cars that emit 20 times more hydrocarbons than current ULEV vehicles. As long is there are more than 2 people on the planet people are going to be complaining and getting others to conform to their ideals if they are different.
If diesel pickups and leaf blowers spewed noxious fumes inside pool rooms then rest assured, people would complain about those too. But people don't complain about that on a pool site because it's not a problem for pool rooms. Vapers are.
Like I said, I'm not one of the people that blow huge clouds ( as long as I have the air chamber closed you probably won't see a cloud at all ) and you would have to be way to close to me to smell what I'm vaping for my comfort. I wish more people would research it before bashing it and equating it to cigarettes. I don't know about elsewhere but in South Dakota the smoking ban did shut down a number of small bars and video lottery casinos here because you are still allowed to smoke in the two real casinos that are only a 20 minute drive away from Sioux Falls.
I realize the inconsiderate jerks that blow the mile long cloud and fill the rooms with vape clouds give all of us a bad name and will likely ruin what a few of us enjoy.
Also, I won't tout that vape is some kind of health fad we should all start jumping on. Let’s be realistic, anytime you inhale a heated vapor/smoke you are damaging at the very least your teeth and some will claim it increases your chance for pneumonia.
That being said I still think vaping is a much better alternative than smoking and research done by much smarter people than me would prove that.

essentially they will develop some type of respiratory and or throat issue compiled with the effects of nicotine on the body, I have heard many people say it is harmless and safe. If it were harmless and safe then children would be allowed to have and use it. Then again 50 years ago cigarettes were deemed safe and acceptable.
to each their own vices with or without the dangers.

OK, so there aren't that many VOC's, talk about looking at the bright side. What about the other stuff? It's in there and has been documented. Again, I'm glad that it helps people to smoke less. I concede that it may be less dangerous than smoking, or at least contain lower concentrations of the nasty stuff, but it only takes some carcinogens to cause cancer. I've never seen any research that said these cancer causing agents were only effective above a certain level. The air we breath, even indoors, is polluted enough, as evinced by the study you referred to. Adding more to it, in an effort for you to convince yourself you can have your nicotine and vape it too, is not fine with me.
Your logic is flawed. Go run your diesel engine in your closed garage and sit there for awhile, if you think it's perfectly fine. At some point in time the burning of fossil fuels will need to be seriously curbed, or else it will be more than cancer that we are all worried about.
