I have not heard from him in a very long time.
Some friends of mine from Richmond, where he used to reside, told me that he dropped out of sight. I think there was a girl involved, and you know how affairs of the heart go sometimes with the young'ns!
He was taking pool lessons from Tony Robles in NYC, driving all the way up to the Big Apple from Richmond on a frequent basis. He also visited Jimmy Reid in Tennessee for a little one-on-one lesson.
Like so many American aspiring players, he may have left pool for good. He sure did seem to have a lot of enthusiasm for the sport the whole time I was hanging out with him! I kind of like the kid!

Yeah, it seemed that he had the calling. I guess he just wasn't enough of a masochist.

Just curious if anyone had heard from VAPOOLPLAYER? He played lots of hours of pool per week and seemed like he was on a quest to becoming a serious player.
I wonder if he simply quit the forum or quit pool for good. Jennie, if you ever find out what happened to him I would love to know the particulars. We exchanged a couple of PM's shortly before he disappeared from the forum. Most of us who quit pool, always come back to it. Once you have the fever, it can only be temporarily abated.

I talked to a couple locals from Richmond area a while back and asked about how he was doing. According to the Richmond grapevine, the poor young'n experienced some affairs of the heart which left him sad. He was not frequenting the pool rooms as much because of it.
He is a smart cookie, had a military background, and is very capable of doing whatever he puts his mind to. He has a strong background in computers, too. The sky is the future for this him. Man, to be young again!
