give me an idea what it would cost to "fix" it the way you do. What exactly happens after you've done your work? How does it play differently? Is it a change in the hit, or the way the cue ball squirts, or what?

Thanks so much.

Flex

P.S Also, what is the turnaround time for this work?

I posted the same question in ask the cuemakers last week and still no responce. I'd like to know also.

Hello gentlemen. Sorry for the delay. Been out of comission for a bit...had to have a little surgery. Back to work now though.
Flex...changing the ferrule from the soft plastic to Ivorine 4 will make the hit a bit more hard and stiff...a lot depends on tip choice though. I personally can not tell that it adds any squirt whatsoever. I have also yet to do one that the customer did not absolutely love the hit/performance when completed.
Cost...$30 for the ferrule, plus tip charge...$25 for most laminated tips...plus shipping of course.
Turnaround is fast. I will complete the work the same day I receive the shaft and then return ship the same day. I use USPS Priority Mail. So say you'd like it done with an Everest tip...total charge would be $65 including shipping.
If you'd like it extra FAST then you can overnight it to me, I'll fix it & overnight it back the same day...a bit more shipping charge though.
Let me know or feel free to PM me...my mailbox is now clear.

So the main difference is that the hit becomes a bit stiffer? How does the performance change? Is this essentially a hit changing operation?

Thanks for the quick response.

There are many variables. I can tune the "hit" softer or harder by tip & ferrule choices. The main reason I change them is because many don't like the factory ferrule. The main reasons many don't like the factory ferrule is because they are short, won't stay flush with the shaft wood, absorb chalk stains too easily, will actually melt flat spots on the ferrule sides if you break with it. A one inch ferrule that is chalk resistant and bullet proof, like Tiger's Saber T ferrule is a nice option.
