Reckon I can give yall my thoughts of a Varney j/b. Gona make this Short and simply said!

Weight is great! Nice and light!

Taper is great! I hate thick tapers and it reminds me of my playing cue!

Jumping...... Best jumper I used!PERIOD! Tried with Aramith, Red Circle, and Standard bar mudball....... No PROBLEMS with control and you dont have to jab the shit out of it to get it up in the air!

Breaks...............OMFG! 3-4 balls on average every rack I broke with it! I have a control issue when power breaking so I was flying the ball off the table but that is my ordeal! The tip holds chalk very very well and my goodness it pounds the hell out them balls!!!!!!

MANY people recomend Varney for his J/b and I am another who will recomend it! Even tho Kevins Shop hand Mark built the cue ( his very first on top of that ), This cue is a Cannon! I comend Kevin and Mark for this cue.

Thank you to both of you gentlemen, I appreciate the kind words. Here is a pic of Cajun's j/b. It was actually made from scraps by my shop helper...his first cue ever. I supervised him a bit as he followed my formula for a high performance j/b. Glad you are happy Cajun!:)

your helper did a good job. i've always liked the two tone type of jump cues. i think i'd prefer the wrap shorter but to each his own

Truth be known...Cajun is 6'4" & 260lbs...hence the rare 60" j/b...so I figure he breaks them right sporty on the box.

Looks like you should reread what I wrote.

If you can really average 3-4 balls EVERYTIME you break, then you do break better than every pro I have ever seen.

Once again Congrats to you, if you are truthful it is one hell of an accomplishment

In the maybe 10-15 times I broke with it since I've gotit thursday......pretty good.....Now if I would try for a softer controlled break I'd prolly only drop 1-2 if that.....but I was giving this cue a manpower test and it really slams thatr rack!!!! Reckon thas one rumor bout Varney Cues that is true :P:P:P

that doesn't mean anything (the barbox comment that is) sometimes those're just as hard to make a ball on. especially ifyou're not racking your own

Very true. I mean the balls roll funny all the time..... You arent gona make a ball EVERY break...jus thte few racks i tried with the new cue I've made balls..... Lucky to make 3-4 balls on the break yes... Unlucky to flying the cueball off the table half the time as well......... Time to start practicing!

Keep your cue as flat as possible and hit center ball. You may not realize it but you are shooting down into the ball.
Plus dial the power way back and focus on hitting a stop shot so you park the cueball...you'll still make balls. When you are parking the rock consistantly then add the power back a little at a time...but keep control of whitey.
