Hello again,

There's a cue I want to buy but can't until I sell one of these cues. Please take a look again to see if they are something you may like. Both cues look & play great.

Original post:

I have 2 of Kevin Varney's nice custom plainjane wrapless cues. I would like to sell 1 but would consider both. They are in very good condition and all have Kevin's 3/8-10 southwest style pin. Specs and pics below:

1) Bubinga forearm/curly maple handle/ebony buttsleeve w/1 OB classic shaft that was made for this cue from a blank - so it is basically an original OB Classic shaft. Top/left in the pictures

Specs: 57.4"; Butt is 15.16oz; OB Classic shaft is 3.875oz, 12.75mm - (Kevin made the butt a little shorter)

Originally sold for $525, will do $425 shipped conus.

2) BEM forearm & buttsleeve/ebony or black stained maple handle w/of Kevin's standard shaft. Bottom/right in the pictures.

Specs: 57.4"; Butt is 15.456oz; shaft is 3.645oz, 12.65mm - (Kevin made the butt a little shorter)

Originally sold for $475, will do $375 shipped conus.

Thank you for looking.

Dave

i think the handle on the bem cue is black stained purple heart. i bet it's a nice hitter.

Chuck, I think you are right - I have heard Kevin does that a lot and it does look stained, but I really don't know the wood used. I can tell you that the cue plays strong like it is a hard wood similar to purpleheart.

Thanks for the info & the bump.

I've had a request to mix the shafts w/the other butts so I thought I'd post my answer for all to see.

I will not do that for 2 reasons: 1) the collars are not an exact match, one is plain white (the BEM w/blk handle) while the other is marbled like an ivory substitute (the 3 wood butt). 2) they are not exactly the same diameter so they do not match up perfectly. Close but not perfectly.

Because of this, they will be sold as is so everyone will be happy with their purchase. Both cues play well, it's whether you like an LD shaft or not.

Thanks for your interest.

Please look at the beautiful woods- Kevins Combinations-

I'm going to respond to the black (stained ,Painted (handle wrap) I'm more than guessing Maple handle wood. I have the same(cue but with 4 points. Looks like a great deal for the next guy!! I will never let mine get sold- I'd cut off my little fingers tip first!! I hope Kevin's health has returned as well!!!! A bump for you my friend- These are quality cues for little money- Kevin puts a lot of work into every cue he makes- Hopefully kevin returns to good health- because he has paided in advance for these works of ART. God bless the cue maker and seller! Mark

Thanks, Mark. Whether it's stained maple or purpleheart, the cue plays great. Appreciate the insight and the nice words. They are both great deals and players.
