Vegas BCA Brackets are up

BCAPL brackets

Well - the 33rd annual BCAPL National 8-ball Championships is now in the books.

We are really excited about how well the on-line, real time brackets worked out.

Would really appreciate some feedback from AZer's on them.

Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated. By the way, we know the master teams were NOT on line - that is because they used a very different formate than the rest of event and the computer was not programmed to handle it.

We averagede over 30,000 visits per day - not 'hits' that, would have been many times higher.

Impressed

Mark,

I was very impressed with the job that Bad Boys did!

From the moment that the online brackets went up through all the players asking about finding where a friend was playing, I herad nothing but good things.

It seems to me that this was the best BCAPL tournament yet.

Good luck on finding ways to improve it

The online brackets were GREAT! I was able to easily follow players and there progress from the comfort of my $9.95 per day :) internet connection in my Riveria Room! I also followed players and teams once I got home. I also know a bunch of players who didn't make it to Vegas had the chance to follow the charts.

The updating was very timely and the yellow hilighting of the players/teams was a huge bonus.

I met you on Thursday afternoon (you thought I was a vendor) and you moved a sign away from some fire extinguishers. You mentioned that this program was going to be available online. Could you expand on that?

Whats up for next year? I'm sure you've already got tons of ideas for improvements for next year. Probably also a few bugs to work out. Here's some things that I would like to see....

When you clicked on a player/team if it could also show you what place you would finish at if you lost. Of course this would be on the losers side of the bracket. Having the $ amount that they would win would be a bonus.

When you clicked on a team name it would show you who was on that team. For instance, "Hustlin'" won the Mixed Open Team event. There is no easy way to find out who is on that team. Oops, I see now that I can search by team name

Along with the above, in previous years you posted prior to the tournament one big file of all the entrants and what events they were in. Ie:

http://www.playbca.com/Portals/0/2008_8Ball/page.htm

You then posted the results here...

http://www.playbca.com/Events/PastN...s/ALLRESULTSBYLASTNAME/tabid/532/Default.aspx

This was GREAT (for us stat junkies) as you could copy either of those files into excel and do sorts based on names, states, finishes, etc. I had suggested to Ron G that you could also provide all this online with clickable sortable headings.

Thanks again for the online charts and for a very well run tournament.

Can someone post the results of the Masters Team event? Who won, who placed, etc.

I understand the programming behind a triple elimination bracket and that is not something that would have been an easy change for the programmers.

Very Nice!

It was a great benefit.
I was very pleased to be sitting in my room and check double and triple check my match time and table assignement.

I really liked the search function of either name team name or league #.

The only things that I think could be improved are Telling what place player finished.

Having buttons to refresh search with new player names or league #
I only found league# on one screen after i had done a search it would be nce if that was on opening page.

But all in all great job guys.

(Is there a way to not have 24.5 hrs between matches?)
