I was going to install simonis cloth on the table but now im hearing good things abou velocity pro. I like the idea about the price being alot cheaper and the speed? Just looking for some input before i actually order it today? Any comments?

I have not used velocity pro but I have used Granito Basalt which is sold by Muellers and I liked it better than the Simonis 860 I have now. I believe it is quite popular in Europe and it is quite a bit cheaper than Simonis. If you get the Velocity Pro, Post a review. I need new cloth and would be interested. Right now I intend to use Granito.

Funny you mention Granito

I was looking for Granito a while back & was having a difficult timing finding it in the U.S. As I recall, the one place I did find it, the price was over twice what Simonis costs. If you have a source in the U.S. that is selling it cheaper than Simonis, please let me know, so I can tuck some away for my future tables.

Granito on a Valley bar table is like playing on glass. It is the nuts!

Sorry to hijack the thread. I will have to check out this velocity pro as well. Sounds interesting.

PS.

Go here and order up to 4 sample swatches for side by side comparisons.

Granito BasaltIs the way to go if you like it fast! I bought my felt form my local PH http://www.mrcues2.net/ Because at one time thats what he had on all 40 plus pool tables. I played league there and wanted to have the same cloth on my table at home.

Yes, I carry it, Check my Price before you buy, This cloth is simular to 760, its fast, and wears great, and is at a lower cost than simmonis.. My own personal table, is covered with this cloth and its great..

If you want speed, try the Granito. It is noticeabley faster than Simonis. If you want speed, you will be glad you did. I see no reason for someone to skimp on the felt if it is for a single home table. If you skimp and then decide it isn't as fast as it could be and you don't like it, you will regret it. Then, the whole expense was a waste if you decide to change it. Just my opinion after having someone show up with krap felt to do my table installation with after I speciified 860. I wasn't willing to wait to get my table set up a week or so later, so I let them do it with what they had. What a mistake. I hated it. I should have ran out and found some 860 on my own while they were starting the set- up.

You don't have to refelt home tables very often and you can spend more money on the labor than the felt, so why take a chance. Also, if you play competitively, it makes sense to practice on the same felt or better than you will play on for the $. If you haven't played on Granito, find some place that has it on a table and try it. I promise you it is well worth your time to check it out.

ps. My calling the felt as krap was in no way insinuating any felt discussed in this thread is krap. Mine was some garbage slow bar table unknown felt.

Velocity

Sorry, not a fan of it. Seems kinda cheap to me. If you regularly play on simonas that's probably what I would put it on my home table. At least you won't be trying to adjust to speed variables when you go out. Also, the Velocity seems to grab alot when you draw and the Simonas is a little slicker. Kinda gives you a false sense of security as far as drawing the ball is concerned.
