Hi!
I recieved my copy of Venom Trickshots today. Two words: absolutelly awesome!!!! Great production, quite interesting info about Florian "Venom" Kohler and most importantly wide array of mind-blowing trickshots. Maybe the most interesting part were outtakes where you can see what can possibly go wrong on those complex trickshots. Worth every dollar spent!

I got mine on Friday of last week. It is definitely cool. The outtakes are probably my favorite part.

Thanks for the great reviews! I tried my best to make this movie appeal to even us serious pool players, so it means a lot to Florian and I that you guys enjoyed watching the DVD.

While I'm at it, I'd like to apologize yet again for all the delays. The DVD shipped nearly a month behind schedule, and I feel pretty bad about that. Thankfully only one lady who ordered was really mad, so I gave her a refund and shipped her the DVD anyway. lol

Anyway, thanks again everyone!

Where did you get it from?

Nathan, I am really sorry about that. My wife does NOT share our appreciation for the game or my passion for trickshots. As you know, it was supposed to be a B-day gift that was missed. I understand that things can be delayed (especially around the holidays) and I am not upset at all.

It was worth the wait! Unfortunately, she doesn't see it that way.

That was your wife? lol...Anyway, it doesn't matter. She never asked for a refund or anything. I simply offered her one since she was clearly not happy with the delays. Given the fact that it was a birthday present and never made it anywhere near on time, I really can't blame her. After all, I shouldn't have set the December 7th shipping date if I wasn't positive that I could meet it. Sadly I'm too much of a perfectionist and was no where near making the deadline.

Anyway, thanks for understanding.

(PS. Is that your place in your avatar? Looks like a really nice setup you have there.)

Yes, it is, and thank you. Let me know if you ever come through Dallas. We can get together and shoot a few games. I'm sure Courtney would love to meet you!

Just watched the clip. I'm going to have to order that. What the heck kind of jump cue is that.

It's the Mezz Airshooter (not the 'air drive'). Florian (Venom) swears by it....although it takes more than just a good jump cue to do that nonsense. lol

OH heck yea it takes more.. I can jump close balls with some cues but DAMN that one by the side pocket was SICK...

Here's another plug for the DVD.

Anyone who really knows me knows that I REALLY like to do jump shots. Something that I was not able to do last week was a one handed jump shot. While the DVD is not meant to be an instructional video, after watching closely at Florian's one handed jump technique and trying it myself for about 1/2 hour I am now able to perform a one handed jump shot over a full ball about 50% of the time.

Nathan, did you run out of the 'Definition' shirts? It simply says page no longer exists.
I wanted to purchase both the venom trickshots dvd, and the shirt

I'm out of stock on all shirts, except the 'Efren' shirt.

The 'Definition' shirt had manufacturing issues though, as they were unable to print the design right to the seam. I'm working on finding a cheap manufacturer who has the proper equipment to do that.

Shipping is free though, so there's no need to worry about ordering items separately. :)

I'm holding out on getting new inventory until I finish a few new designs. I'll be launching a whole proper line of clothes (including classier embroidered stuff) in about a month. I want to make sure everything is perfect and I have proper pictures this time, rather than just digital previews.

Awesome. And all this time I've been holding out for no reason! Time to make the buy!

I discussed with Florian some time ago on Youtube about the possibility of obtaining a signed copy of the DVD. Is there any way this can be done?

Hm, that's a tough one. Florian lives in France, and since I don't have any signed copies to ship, it could be tricky. I know he'd sign one if you sent it to him, but that means shipping it all the way there first (Florian doesn't stock the DVDs).

I know he'll be at the Super Billiard Expo in March, but other than that I'm not familiar with his schedule. I'm open to suggestion if you can think of a practical solution.

Here's the Trailer.

For anyone reading this thread that hasn't seen the trailer yet

Here is the link

I must say I was lucky enough to be one of the first ones to watch this, and all I could say was that the trailer doesn't even do it justice, it is only the tip of the iceberg for whats inside.

It must be pretty good if Raj Hundal would say he would personally refund everybody that didn't enjoy it.

Mine came Thurs. or Friday and I started to make a post at that time but held off until others had posted. I'm glad that many like your presentation but I was not impressed with this series of shots for a few reasons. One reason was that it was drug out to long with just idle chat but the main reason was all of the out takes showing all of the tries trying to get a shot right. What I saw on Youtube was very impressive to say the least. What I saw on this video though was many attempts and then some fluke occurrences happen and then spun as great, planned shots. You could see by his body reactions on many of the shots that he couldn't believe them himself. I'm sure many of the shots were planned but took many tries to execute but there were others that were flukes and he might need thousands of tries to get them to occur again. I would have been much happier with a 15 minute condensed version showing just the amazing completed shots instead of the full version showing all the luck involved and chitter chatter.

Dick,

The whole DVD was filmed in 8 days, including over 180 shots. If you do the math you'll realize that the average shot took 10-15 minutes to do (some on the first attempt), most of which was camera setup and lighting adjustments. Sometimes Florian would make the shot and I wouldnt be happy with the camera work, so we'd refilm it. Considering the level of difficulty of the shots, I'd say that's pretty impressive on Florian's part.

There are no flukes in this movie. I don't mind you saying that you don't like how I produced this DVD, I'm cool with having the criticism pointed towards me - but at least give Florian some credit. He has compiled what is arguably the most innovative and advanced set of trickshots of all time, and you're completely denying him the respect that he deserves by suggesting that he flukes a large number of the shots.

Besides, do you expect top players to never miss? Even when Efren played his best pool, he didn't run 100 packs. He missed regularly. The same thing applies to trickshots. These are real people, not robots. If you want to see shots that can be made every time on the first attempt, then go turn on ESPN and watch the same 25 tricks shots that they've been doing for the past 20 years. This DVD focuses on skill and stroke shots, not setup shots.

As for the part where he continually misses the shot, if you're paying attention, you'll see that he actually makes the shot almost every single time, but sometimes the balls just won't cooperate. Those sequences were subject to a horrible stream of bad luck, where Florian's determination allowed him to push past it and make the shot anyway.

Lastly, regarding Florian's overwhelming reaction after executing a few select shots.....I dont blame him! If you just executed what is probably the sickest trickshot ever recorded, would you just stand there afterwords? Hell no. You'd probably jump around and celebrate as well. Florian has a passion. I see no need to criticism him for getting excited when he surpasses what we previously thought impossible on a pool table.

A quick note regarding my last post. If I sounded angry, then I apologize. It just gets under my skin when people are so quick to criticize, only to then wonder why our industry struggles.
