Dick,
The whole DVD was filmed in 8 days, including over 180 shots. If you do the math you'll realize that the average shot took 10-15 minutes to do (some on the first attempt), most of which was camera setup and lighting adjustments. Sometimes Florian would make the shot and I wouldnt be happy with the camera work, so we'd refilm it. Considering the level of difficulty of the shots, I'd say that's pretty impressive on Florian's part.
There are no flukes in this movie. I don't mind you saying that you don't like how I produced this DVD, I'm cool with having the criticism pointed towards me - but at least give Florian some credit. He has compiled what is arguably the most innovative and advanced set of trickshots of all time, and you're completely denying him the respect that he deserves by suggesting that he flukes a large number of the shots.
Besides, do you expect top players to never miss? Even when Efren played his best pool, he didn't run 100 packs. He missed regularly. The same thing applies to trickshots. These are real people, not robots. If you want to see shots that can be made every time on the first attempt, then go turn on ESPN and watch the same 25 tricks shots that they've been doing for the past 20 years. This DVD focuses on skill and stroke shots, not setup shots.
As for the part where he continually misses the shot, if you're paying attention, you'll see that he actually makes the shot almost every single time, but sometimes the balls just won't cooperate. Those sequences were subject to a horrible stream of bad luck, where Florian's determination allowed him to push past it and make the shot anyway.
Lastly, regarding Florian's overwhelming reaction after executing a few select shots.....I dont blame him! If you just executed what is probably the sickest trickshot ever recorded, would you just stand there afterwords? Hell no. You'd probably jump around and celebrate as well. Florian has a passion. I see no need to criticism him for getting excited when he surpasses what we previously thought impossible on a pool table.
