Veoh trouble

I can watch all the videos on Veoh just fine. But, I've been trying to put a video of me shooting on there and it won't let me. It says that it excepts MPEG and that is the file type, but when I go to download it on there it says " You must select a valid video file". Anyone have any suggestions? I'm not to good with computors so I could use some help.

I'ts just a 42 ball run taking up 583 megabites. I tried Utube also, but it won't do anything over 10 minutes I guess.

I've been having trouble with Veoh lately as well, but just as a viewer.

A guess would be that it is a different encoder. It might be MPEG file type, but encoded differently?

Are you using the web or the downloadable application?

You might want to try saving it as an mpeg2 file type.

Or even .wmv for smaller file sizes.

I'm not an expert, but I think mpeg is the old standard and is very bulky.

Not sure what you mean there. I have a 30 gb recorder. It loaded onto the computor and is saved on an MPEG file type. It plays on Windows Media Player. How would I change the file type?

If you want to convert the file from one file type to another, try Prism.

Prism Video Converter

This is a free download. You get a free 10 day trial with it and it works great and its easy to use. You can convert your file into just about any file type that you want in a matter of minutes.

Thanks Blackjack, I was able to convert the files to AVI, MP4 with the Prism.

Now when I try to put them in there, the little green bar on the bottom goes all the way over, but the download video progress goes from 1.2, 3.0 etc. but then it always goes back to 0% no matter how long I wait. I tried shutting down my Kasperski security, but that didnt work either. Think it could have anything to do with Vista?

I would contact their Tech Support team to troubleshoot it. It must be something on your end - When I saw this thread yesterday - I decided to see if it was a problem with the site - I was able to upload a short video with no problems yesterday.

Here is a link - Veoh Tech Support

The bar scrolls down so that you can designate exactly what the problem is (uploading). at this point, I think this is your best option.

Good luck with it and let us know what happens.

PS - I like all of the NCH software - especially Prism, Wavepad, Mixpad - They are awesome resources!

when i did a few google searches the other day, i found a thread on veoh problems. apparently, there is a bug in how the site displays the upload status. not sure if this is the same problem or not.

contacting veoh support is probably the best way
