Can anyone tell me when Carom Cafe opens it's doors each day during the tournament, what the hours of tournament play might be and the daily cost to be a spectator? Are there generally a lot of spectators competing for the best viewing seats?

Also, any comments about the food served here and close by restaurants would be appreciated. Based on my research, most all of the local fare is Korean food, but that is not a problem for me at all. I would just appreciate specific local restaurant recommendations.

I can't answer your other questions, but I will reiterate something I said earlier about Carom Cafe. Take public transportation or a cab, as their parking is ridiculous and street parking is almost impossible.

Carom Cafe opens at about 9:00am and closes about 4:00am during tournament days.
They serve food and also there are many places to eat nearby, but I have no recommendations.
This is the best room to both play and watch 3-cushion.
Take the NYC subway # 7 train from Manhattan and walk about 10 minutes from Main Street Flashing.
The Long Island Railroad also stops nearby, but costs more than the subway.
There is free street parking, but you have to be extremely lucky to find a space within a 1/4 mile radius.
A parking spot in a lot will cost about $20 daily.
I don't know the cost to be a spectator.

Thank you kkdanamatt and 3kushn for your responses and for the links. In particular, I'm interested in the daily match schedule link from professorqball.com. I will be checking Paul's site daily for this info as I will be arriving on Wednesday.

I'm trying to keep up here with the info. Sometimes Paul gets things before I do so he's a good resource for sure. Wednesday I'm on the road so things may get posted a little slower. Not sure if I can place attachments here over my phone.

There are a lot of good Chinese restaurants just across Northern Blvd. on or near Main St. The food at Carom Cafe is OK and reasonably priced but the kitchen tends to be a little slow during tournaments. There is a pretty good diner for breakfast (Uncle Bill's Diner) about four blocks north of the room in a strip mall.
