Played 3 races to 100 with Forumghost516 tonight. And all i could say is that playing in the worlds transformed his mental game. It was actually exciting to watch him.

Even though he didnt get very far in the tournament, it seems he absorbed so much knowledge. His pattern play has greatly improved.

Me on the other hand :

I couldnt do a damn thing right, i wonder if i am trying too hard to be too precise and not leaving any margin for error.

I Guess it doesnt help that lately i have only been playing once a week.

Does anyone have any insight for me?

Thanks
Steve

You mention trying to be too precise. One thing I have taken from snooker is that I try to play position on a couple of balls at once, in case I over run position for the one I wanted to play.

More than anything though, it's probably a mental thing. We've seen plenty of champion players have a rough time getting through more than a rack, if that.

i agree... take the shot that leaves you options. also, a center-ball hit cannot be underestimated.

today my first rack was like a wonderful dream. i had to sink a combination and after that i didn't bump a single ball from it's spot. everything was perfect, i set up a nice break ball on my second rack and was then confronted with THE RACK FROM HELL. on this rack, my secondary break shot just created more mini clusters. then just when i think i have an out, i get a visit from the great straight-pool satan who delights in my frustration. but we do it not because it's easy but because it's insanely difficult.
