Yang's out, Efren's out, Alcano's out, Chamat's out, Manalo's out, Orcullo's out..................I didn't expect this many big names to NOT make it to the final 32..........

Then you have some other players been around awhile floating just under the surface trying to get up for some air, i.e., Daryl Peach's great set over Ronnie Alcano.
Of course, sometimes though, I think the Pinoys have it planned for the top guys to get beat, so one of their 'rising stars' can make a name for himself in the World of Pool. I know Ronnie plays good Pool, but last year was kind of a 'fluke' win because of his patented break that worked every time. This year, his break wasn't so good, Daryl's was, and Ronnie got beat.
Actually, I thought other than De Luna's break, his match with Van Van was a little boring. I would much rather watch someone a little faster pace like Drago, Oliver Ortmann, Corey.

night was different. Do you why he was deliberate, cautious, slow last night?
He has an axe to grind against BSCP and Lee Vann. He was booted
out of the Philippine team for the upcoming Asean Games and Lee Vann
took his place instead. This after winning a silver medal, losing to countryman
Antonio Gabica for the gold in a much tougher competition in the last Asian
Games. He was playing angry, and that came from the horse's mouth:
