Very old cue -- what is it?

A book-collecting acquaintance has just purchased the following cue stick which he believes may have belonged to Albert Powers (who once beat de Oro?). Any ideas? What is such a thing worth?

Surely a presentation trophy cue. Could it be a very early Albert Pick and Co. Conversion before their time in Chicago? The obvious answer is a Rieper trophy cue, but the AP makes me wonder... That would be my guess...Matt D.
