VF Putnam vs Souquet

I'm a little late today but I'm here. :)

Souquet is up 2-0 in the 1st set against Shawn

I just got in & settled so I'm not sure if Shawn is missing balls or not pocketing balls on the break & Souquet is getting out...

This is the one loss side. The winner of this match will play Dennis Hatch and the winner of that match will play Mike Davis.
 
Souquet is up 3-0 and just came up dry on the break. The balls are kind of tight but not really cluttered. Hopefully Shawn can get out & get back into this match.
 
Shawn got out of line & missed his last ball, Ralf just played safe but pocketed Shawn's last ball. Shawn brought out the jump cue.... sadly he made a bad hit and Souquet now has bih

Last yr at this event Shawn didn't miss a single jump shot
 
I have a question ...

With Mike Davis's style of form, stroke, and aiming, what does he do when he has to shoot a jump shot? Is his form unorthodox for jump shots too, or does he revert to a more normal form style for jump shots?

I'm not sure, I never paid attention. If he has to jump a ball today I'll look to see what mechanics he uses.
 
Putnam just broke and came up dry again. There was one ball tied up that Souquet just broke out
 
I took a break when the players did but they beat me back. I know it was Shawn's break & he must not have pocketed a ball because Souquet was at the table when I came back in and just went up 1-0 in the 2nd set.
 
Shawn finally pocketed a ball on the break and nothing is tied up at the moment. Shawn has to get out here in order to stay in this match.
 
Putnam was able to get out but now it's Souquets break...

Souquet just scratched on the break. The format rules are ball in hand anywhere on the table. The stripes are spread out nicely & two solids are tied up together.

Koop said he was leaving early this morning. He did some posting for me when I went out to contaminate my lungs or just take a break from sitting. He might not've seen the post. It's easy to miss posts when you're keeping the same thread open & just clicking on reply....

Shawn got out, just pocketed 3 balls on the break and scratched. :(
 
I had a great time hanging out with Koop & ScottR here in the tourney room last night. Rude dude, wish you could've been here to hang with us.
 
Sorry off topic, but Timberly your "green dot" is not lit up, I was curious how your using the internet with your laptop in the stands. THanks again for all the time you are dvoting to keep us informed.

My green dot doesn't show up because I'm in invisible mode. It just means that folks can't see when I'm online.

The convention center has a wireless set up throughout. I'm sitting in the VIP section where there's a table & a chair with a cushion.

Thanks to Eydie for trusting me with her laptop and allowing me to hog it up the last couple of days. :)
