I was given the wrong info last night. The medical emergency was not FL. The incident with FL happend earlier in the afternoon. The only thing I heard about the medical emergency was that they had to take a guy to the hospital but I don't know anymore than that.

I met Eric at Jeeves' party last night along with his fiance'. They were both very nice and it was a pleasure to meet them. Eric is not barred from the event for life as was originally reported.

FL is healthy & ok. He was just standing in front of me....he smiled & waved.

Debra,

My point is, you like to keep pissing him off, too! You're trying to defend why it's okay for you to keep attacking him on the unmoderated boards on the Internet and it's not okay for him to attack you in person? And the argument goes to??

WAKE UP!! WTF do you think happens in REAL TIME???

And thanks to BlackJack Dave for sending me a pm when I can't respond to it. The above is a condensed version. :)

Despite what Barbara has said here, I do not condone any violence in any situation for any reason. Larry is not a bad person. He just likes to piss people off. Its what he does. Some people get up and go to work every day, Larry gets on RSB and pises everybody off. Its just what he does, he enjoys it, and he really means no harm. Its no excuse to attack somebody that is not physically able to defend themselves. He and I have talked about the possibility of someone attacking him, and what needs to be understood is that Larry doesn't view what he does on the internet like a normal person. He sits at his desk laughing everytime he pisses someone off. Many people here have never gotten to know Larry. He's really not a bad person. He just has a lot of problems and sometimes he refuses to take his medication as prescribed. Nobody has received more harassment from Larry than I have. Larry loves fighting with me, then he makes peace, we're best buddies - calling each other every day, and a few months later he's whacky from drinking on his medication again. Its just a mad cycle that he is on, and despite everything he writes about me on RSB I can't help but laugh at him because I know he's laughing at me when he's writing it. Sometimes its frustrating because he does it all day and all night sometimes, but that's how he wastes his time. Really, he's got nothing better to do all day. Eric was wrong for resorting to violence. Violence is not necessary - especialy when dealing with Fast Larry.

I'm glad that Eric isn't barred from VF, but the fact that FL didn't require EMS and that he is still 'standing & smiling' is disheartening to say the least. I guess I'll to repack all my party favors and try to put the cork back into the Dom Perignon ... dammit !
Well, on the bright side, is that FL is still on his U.S. Tour <G> and there's still a chance that 'someone will look him up.'

Maybe you and FL oughta hook up? That might be a helluva match-up!

To me, it sounds like FL deserved it at any age or health condition. Having problems should not give one a "license to kill". I don't want people like him in my world and I doubt most of you do. So why should we respect his age or condition knowing who and what he is all about? I say getting rid of him forever is progress...

If we let people act like he does, it degrades our society. Living in a community requires certain participation from eachother so we can function. In this case, getting put in his place is the function.

Part of the male role is to keep other males in line. This holds true for many species. One important lesson all human males learn, growing up, is how to get your ass kicked for running your mouth to the wrong person. What it does is teach us social responsibilty with the way we behave.

Whether you like that statement, or not, it IS part of our culture and to this day, there is no substitute for it. It is a requirement to keep men from destroying the society with agressiveness.

If not for people like Eric putting FL in his place, the world would be full of FL types. Think of how many are out there that keep there mouths shut beause they learned their lesson the hard way. Do you really want a world full of assholes running their mouth like FL at will? I don't and am glad people step up and and take care of them...

sure why not....

We're not talking schoolboys here. We're talking two grown men, in FL's case, he's in his 60s, recently out of the hospital and so on. Even if FL provoked the other fellow, which is never a good thing to do, it doesn't justify someone assaulting and inflicting battery on him, if that's what happened. So far, we don't really know what happened, just what's been written on here, and details have been sketchy. My concern is that criminal activity seems to be condoned, which should never be. What if FL dies as a result of this? Will that make people happy? What about his family, and friends? Even if a lot of people don't like him, and they may have very good reasons not to like him, is wishing him unlawful physical harm something to be approved of?

Sincerely,

Flex

I'm not terlling anyone to go out and do it, and I'm definitely not saying that I would do it, but condoning it. Damn straight. One of the big problems with our society today is too many wussy whipped faggots not willing to stand up for themselves and put people in their place.

Too many people run their mouths and need to have their butt hammered to teach them not to run their mouths so freely. So I'll say it if no one else will. Maybe FL ran his mouth to the wrong person a few too many times. Me, I persona;;y have nothing against FL except for noticing a complete disregard for any decent humanity and a willingness to run his mouth when he probably shoudln't. I'm not saying he deserved to get popped in the head. I would have to know the circumstances and what he said to Eric to come to that conclusion, but I am tired wussyfooting little lawyer wannabe's like you running your mouth about "you wouldn't condone any illegal activity would you??" It's a friggin fist fight between pool players. come on, this ain't robbing a little old lady of her rent money with a knife or a gun.

Well, Jaden, I suppose we have a difference of opinion on this one. I'm not a lawyer, nor a wannabe anything. Have you ever been mugged? I have. Numerous times when growing up. And I'm very fortunate to still be alive. I have a pretty good idea what it's like to fear for my life. And I don't take it lightly when anybody, that's right, ANYBODY, is the victim of assault and battery. I don't care who it is; assault and battery is a criminal offense. Call it a fist fight if you want. When two grown men engage in "fist fights" it can and does happen that just one punch can kill. That's why it's good to avoid ever getting in those situations. And I don't think it is a good idea for anybody to think that assault and battery is a good thing, or to say it is.

I grew up in St. Louis in the 60s. Those were pretty charged times. The muggings occurred from the time I was 7 years old til I was 14, when my family moved out into the country.

Not fun stuff.

Yes., I have had attempted muggings happen to me and have a three inch scar from a knife to prove it. and I do know that one punch can kill, especially when the person getting hit is an old man. That's all the more reason why FL should've kept his old damn mouth shut....

I know that all it takes is a solid connected punch to the mid section to snap a rib and puncture a lung, or a solid punch to the head to cause an aneurism and almost instantaneouys death. I've trained in various martial arts for more than twenty years, and can attest to the deadliness of the human body..

On top of that, if someone insulted my wife or my mother, I would not hesitate to slam them in the noggin. If someone was as calous to me in person as I've seen FL be to people on this forum, I might slap him in the head to get his attention. OFten times that is the only way to really get someone like him's attention...

My physical life isn't as imprtant to me as my honor is, and if there were more people like me in the world, it would be a better place. You said you're surprised that so many people advocate vigilante justice on this board. I am too, and I have to say that it's comforting.... Now of course most of those people who say that wouldn't actually do it, but I WOULD.

I truly appreciate what you just wrote, and agree substantially with it.

Regarding vigilianteeism, it's often the result of a lack of inaction or protection coming from those who are charged with this duty, specifically the police. In the case of what's going on on this board, that isn't exactly the situation. We still don't know what really happened in this incident, although we have some indications. Rich R. posted in another thread something about this. Worth taking a look at.

Regarding sticking up for ourselves, I'm totally in favor of it, and believe that concealed carry should be legal for non-criminals. That would sure put a damper in crime.

One thing that isn't good, however, is for everybody to feel "authorized" to go can clock someone with whom they disagree. As a martial artist, you know how easy it is for someone to die as a result of one good punch. Respect can go a long ways to keeping the peace, which I fully support.

Thanks again.

Absolutely, I agree...

I think that being cognizant of other people's feelings is important, but at the same time, I'm conflicted because I think that political correctedness has gotten WAY overblown in this country, and that wussyfication has too. People should be able to say some things without people getting their panties in the bunch, although a modicum of reason should be utilized.

And at the same time if someone goes over the line, people should have the right to defend their honor. I'm not saying pull out the dueling pistols or the sabers, just a clock to the head occassionally isn't all that bad a thing. I think it would help to lower the stress levels of certain people who feel impetized by our jacked up judicial system.

Oh and on a side note. I wish I was here two years ago so I could';ve been voted to go to the us open.....:(

Ill have to say that all the bickering about Eric and FL is kinda funny to me thinking that people are so" hung up" over an old fashioned fist fight that is thinking of the way some people settle things in todays world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GUNS This makes the statements you have been arguing about kinda trivial???? Yes, the right person or the right punch properly placed can kill but i would have to take my chances with the fist fight if it has to happen !!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Four teenagers tried to steal my bicycle. Their weapon of choice: a sawed off garden rake, wielded like a baseball bat. Tried to slam me in the head. Wiffed over it though. Got neither me nor the bike. That time I escaped unscathed, although they made me fear for my life.
