Video: How To Run Rack of 14.1

I watched your 103 where you talked through the run. I enjoy hearing your thought process. One thing I would say I don't like side pocket key balls unless the ball is close to the pocket or you have a stop shot to get on the key ball. If object ball is far from side pocket you end up scrambling for shape on the break ball unless you get straight in.

I agree totally. The easiest/ideal way to set up the break shot is with a few stop shots on the last few balls, although that’s not always the option.

Episode #4 uploaded yesterday. I had some computer problems and I had not time to make it better quality play. One take only. Anyways I did get it done and I think something to learn in it still. :)
Next few episodes I gonna cover run saving breakshots just to have more to guys who are better on 14.1.
Happy Holidays!

Geez, his game in THIS video reminds me of mine (only he has better luck and doesn’t miss). Each misstep forces a change of plan (A, then to B, then C, etc., etc.….good thing there are more letters than balls!). All the while I’m trying to think about 10 things at once (while my opponent dies of boredom). It sort of points out the pitfalls of not practicing regularly, so that most things become automatic (players like Willie or Earl never seemed to have to stop and think about what to do next).

Haha. I will usually play better but speaking foreign language takes a toll from brain. I also normally shoot rack 3-4 mim.

This. I’ve watched plenty of your videos, 14.1 and rotation. Talking definitely takes it’s toll on the brain, even in your native language. Trying to play while commentating in a second or third language must be very taxing. Thanks for taking the time to post these.

You know, ever since @Shuddy started posting his videos, I half expect videos like this one above to be, well, not as the title implies.:p
Haha, well, if it’s affecting other posters, I guess I have zero chance of being taken seriously again

Speaking to the above point about talking while playing though. I did a Diamond Dave video last night where I ran my age in straight pool while telling a pretty crazy story from when I was younger. The first two racks were about 3 minutes each. I started telling the story in the 3rd rack and that rack took 10 minutes.

I haven’t posted it because a) I’m worried it’s too long, and b) I’m not sure yet if Diamond Dave is supposed to be good enough to run his age first take.

Of course he isn't that good; I hear he has never even run a rack of 9-Ball!

Episode #5 is up. This time safety that every 14.1 player must know... plus straight in breakshot!
I had bad day when I shot this so excuse me not doing better work. Anyways maybe someone learn new stuff about 14.1 either safety or that run saving breakshot.
