How did you do in the Energy Classic? Who did you play - Open Division?
In the words of Cledus Snow - about normal, I lost.
I had to play in the open division and it was by far the most stacked tournament I have ever played in. I believe there were about 3 or 4 guys at 700 or better.
I lost my first match to Derrick Pacheco 7-2. First shot at the table my CB was sitting in the corner and 5 was in the middle of the table but blocked. Kicked it in and ran out. Then nerves kicked in and the rest is history
I won the second match 7-2 against a similarly rated player.
I won my third match pretty handedly 7-1 I think.
Lost my fourth match to the previous years winner - Donald Parker - 7-0.
Entered last chance and played the same guy I played in match 2 above, beat him again 7-2 (sent him home twice I think)
I seriously don't remember my last match in the last chance but clearly I didn't win.
It was my first real tournament outside of APA Vegas (which I've been to once - we were the first team from SW Idaho to ever cash in the masters division) so it was definitely a learning experience.
Overall I placed about exactly where I expected to, honestly, I shot better then I thought I would on the highs but WAY worse on the lows. In typical fashion I had some KILLER shots I made but just couldn't string things together. I think I had 3 or 4 open table kicks I made, another 2 rail with kick then driving the ball to the other end to get perfect on the 9. My kicks and banks were definitely on, jumps not so much. Chuck (the guy who runs it) is a super nice guy and I will be going back. They have the teams coming up but since I haven't been playing much lately I haven't really talked with anyone about going.
